With this last dev log's mention of "[sic] various odds and ends sitting around" it seems to me that he's in the final stages of preparation for the next release. He just has to clear all that stuff up and finish the sponsorship stuff, right?

I am so excited about the release. Not just to play with it, but for all the new modding opportunities! It's amazing!

ARGH!

I just built myself a new computer, and I want to put DF on it so badly, but I'm just waiting for the next release...

I am confuzzled.  Why wait?

Generate a couple little forts and piddle around experimenting with different things if you are waiting for the next release before doing a big fort.  Remember there's normally a bugfix patch or 5 after every major release anyway, lol.

Well, I've DF on my standby laptop, so it's not like I'm entirely denying myself. I know as soon as I put it on my desktop, the next release will occur, so I figure I'll just wait/use my laptop in the meantime.

(-: I also want the new version to be out asap. I'd like to start recording a Let's play DF. Hopefully the dungeon master bug (tame-able exotic creatures) will be gone in the new version.

just mod dungeon master to be a selectable noble position... we all do it... still doesn't make anything that has eaten a dwarf freindly... just tame.

"Nobody wants to live in Townbrush, and for good reason. Almost everyone that has come to Townbrush has been eaten, stabbed, crushed, drowned, hacked, incinerated, or beaten to death with an octopre skin backpack. When we're not under siege, we're being attacked by Forgotten Beasts. And when we're not being attacked by Forgotten Beasts, there's probably a zombie whale crushing someone to death in the dining room."

Change your broker?
I've tried every thing that could help:
1. change broker ...with another broker
2. ...by killing previous broker and setting new
3. ...by killing everybody and setting new migrant to broker place
4. deleting the broker room/place and creating new
5. flooding broker place with magma
6. ...with water
7. ...obsidianize all the place to remine the room
Nothing helps.

I think it's because the hex boundary around 7FFFFFFh or 8000000h that means 134217728 maximum in decimal.

If this persists after save & load, post it on mantis as bug.

This is not a bug thread.  Can you please create a new thread in the bugs section?  People interested in bugs will actually see it there.  Someone might have a fix for you.  Maybe.

Mantis is easy to sign up for, and if you have a save where this can be recreated, you can sign up for the dwarf fortress file depot as well.

Does the broker has at least Novice in Appraiser skill?

You won't see the wealth even if you have a noble, but with no skill.

I think the 134M boundary can reach everybody just by changing the price of wood, for example.
