They are often under $10 and of immeasurable worth to any roguelike.

What's the point of spending ten dollars on that when you can just remap keys?

It's easier to go between a desktop and laptop keyboard and having your hands really close is a strain on the wrists.

I solved the problem by connecting a USB keyboard  ;) It's not very 'mobile', but I can play in bed ;)

The entire content consists of senseless murder, a pile of faceless naked women and zero regard for human life in general, all in the service of the protagonist's base impulses. It is clearly a cry for help from a neglected, self absorbed and disempowered juvenile badly in need of affectionate guidance. What a sad, sad display.

There's a minus key next to the top '0' digit and the '=' plus shift gives '+'

True story: I got a new laptop because the old one didn't have a numpad to play DF with.

I wouldn't quite go that far, but thanks to DF I wouldn't consider buying a laptop without one. I did buy one of those USB keypads, but I found the action to be irritatingly spongy. I like keys with a snappy action and completely fail to notice any clacking that may result from this.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

I couldn't get past the embark screen because I don't have a numpad with the + and - on it for purchasing skills and such.

This may sound crazy, but I never even thought to use the numpad for navigating menus.  What the hell is wrong with me?

My laptop has a numpad, but I almost never use it because I'm more used to using the remapped keys from my numpad-less old laptop.
