I think it's difficult to draw too much out of those images but specifically the last one because that one just was people's opinions in general and not what people actually part of the LGBT crowd would say. Because I think you'd get some really different responses. Regardless, the data is interesting!  :)

That last one has a interesting trend.

I would like to know the thoughts of the people of bay 12 on that.

Both.
For me at least.
Family had a lot of influence.
Also, a family friend would've turned out gay had he not found his father's porn stash at an early age.

I think it's both genetic and enviormental. The Kinsley Scale suggests that the vast majority of humans are not completely and totally homosexual or heterosexual; its a matter of degree. You can see how, in prisons, a large number of people will enter into gay relationships that they otherwise would never consider because its their only option. As such, what I'm saying is: The baseline of an individual's sexual orentation is heavily influenced by genetics, but situational mate access can bend that genetic starting point one way or another, possibly to extreme degrees.

I'll use myself as an example. I'm straight as all hell, but I can see where homosexual males are coming from in their attraction to other males, even though I don't share that attraction personally. As I have no shortage of potential mates from both sexes, I am confident that I am not being enviormentally influenced in being attracted to women over men, and as such am genetically predispositioned to be straight.

I'm with MSH on that.

Kamina is too much man, even for me.

I wouldn't really say that this is the 'big issue' of today. The only issue to me seems to be how to stop it from being an issue.

But .... It's so small!
It's not the size of the pick that counts... it's the size of the man with the pick.

That may be true.

Were I to have not grown up in this environment, perhaps I would be lusting after Tom Cruise.

Maybe "the" was the wrong word but it certainly is a big issue even if maybe it'll stop sometime perhaps.

I don't really understand homophobia, and have nothing against homosexual people.

Most of the time when someone is described as politically correct they are simply correct.

The Kinsey Scale does say that most people are actually bi, which I think puts this whole debate in perspective. For the vast majority of people this is a lifestyle question. It's not a lifestyle I think is awesome, but it's not my place to condemn other people or try to order them around.

I would guess environmental cause is rather significant. I myself had a girl as a best friend for all of high school, and so spent more then my fair share of time talking about who was or was not attractive in our school. She never seemed shy about admitting what girls she thought were hot, so why would I be shy about what guys I thought were good looking? As such, these days I have no problem at all talking about what I like in guys just as much as what I like in girls. There have been many times when I have been mistaken for being gay because of this trait.

Of coarse it doesn't help that I don't mind flirting with guys either. Not that I would take it further, but I'm willing to lead on that I would.

I think my beliefs on the subject can best be summed up by "Saying 'I don't have any problem with LGBT' has made me feel like a worse person. It should be a given really"

That's another good question: why do you think it is a lifestyle rather than just how they are? I understand that presumably there is an LGBT "culture" but perhaps someone could just be gay and go out with someone who is also gay and that's just all there is to say about that? I wouldn't know, myself, but I would assume that to be true.

From my experience that only applies to people who feel that deep down they have to say that to "prove" (even just to themself) they are accepting of the LGBT crowd. I think most will just outright say it due to that today it's not a given.

Maybe. But not in this case. To me it's like saying "I'm okay with <people of this race>." I feel bad just for having to.

It's a little bit of both, really.
Like how being Jewish is a culture or religion.
On one hand, you've got gays who act pretty much the same as anybody else, except their date's another man.
On the other, you've got the people who put up rainbow flags and participate in the gay pride parades.

Its one of those things, I act camp and such to annoy people, but otherwise I am mostly straight gay. Being camp to get at people isn't the best thing to do... And the whole Born/growing up with it thing... I kinda... Knew? I was gay when I was 9.
