Whaling Games
« on: March 26, 2011, 08:46:25 pm »

The title says it all, we need a thread for games involving the art of whaling. My search has only brought up stupid things, like making whales explode or saving whales, which isn't nearly manly enough for a game about it to be good.
I know there has to be some game out there where you captain a rowboat and slay humongous beasts of the sea with nothing more than the spear in your hand and the will to fight. Of course, the best place to find someone who knows of such a game would be here, so I humbly present my request. Games where you hunt whales with less sporting things like motorboats and sonar are acceptable, but the grail would be whaling at latest about the early 1900s.

In the Sims, you can romance a fat girl.

You people should be arrested, this is an awesome idea and I too am now outraged that it apparently doesn't exist.  All I can find on the internet is something about that stupid Whale Wars show.

I'm somewhat surprised that there aren't any (that I could find after a quick search) good anti-whaling sims. You know, terrorizing whalers in the name of Mother Nature or just for lulz.

We have farm sims all over the place. Hunting and fishing sims, too. Forklift sims! But no real whaling sims. Huh. So many niches to be filled.

I know that there's a Deadliest Catch game, that's crabbing but probably the closest you're gonna get. :(

Friend of mine made a flash game where you scooped whales out of the ocean with a helicopter and then used them as ammo to bomb tokyo.  Had alot of issues getting it onto some of the major flash games sites for some reason......

Do it! There can be no rest without a game of whales and harpoons.

If I remember correctly there's a boating sim on Steam that features several anti-whaling levels. Sadly, the boat at your command is covered in rainbows and is named "Mother Earth Supreme" or something of that nature.
