Can you scat?

Can you?

I'm not talking about shit.

I'm talking about this:

I can, but if it's a particularly fast one, like the beggining of that video, I need to move one of my hands as fast as my mouth, or I can't sing fast enough, for some reason.

Try it. A lot of people just can't move their mouths fast enough for a lot of it.

That was one of many favorite songs from my childhood, and apparently I'm not entirely terrible at doing it. It's kind of weird, because normally when speaking or even singing regular songs, I feel like my lips move too slowly or awkwardly. Mimicking this actually feels easier. The only problem is that my voice is a bit too soft, so I would have to practice a lot to get any real volume for it. Is anyone into this type of music, and know any other good songs?

Yeah, I can do it. Just I don't like the sound of my voice.

I can't, but I've never tried.  I have a fairly pronounced stutter sometimes that would make something like this difficult without stupid amounts of practice >_>

On the other hand, listening to it is pretty amazing :D  And I really don't have much else to do while waiting for the bus...

Asking if somebody can scat is like asking if somebody can sing. Everybody who can talk can, so some degree, however, the level of quality may not measure up to the standards of themselves of the people around them.
