Yeah, just pop a save up there and I should be able to sort it out.  Hopefully we can see the health care jobs working in this millennium.

There's that optimism peeking out again!

I didn't get very far in my .22 fort because there was a random crash, and when that happens I have to put it down until I forget what I accomplished between the last save and the crash or I'll get mad, heehee.

Since it sounds safe to import to .23, eager to try it tomorrow when I am feeling awake  :D :D :D

The announcement is basically just his name, over and over again?

Anyone with the same problem?

Edit: Well, looks like it stopped already. So nevermind I guess.
  I think that's a character error that involves accented letters in dwarven, elven, etc languages. There's a page on the wiki on how to remove accents from the game if you're using a peculiar tileset.

I must say that any FPS increases are BOSS!

Thank you for that.  I know you're focusing more on making things work correctly, and adding in new features (especially after the creature drive).  But FPS is the BIGGEST issue in this game.  I've never seen an ascii roguelike type engine that gets this low of FPS, ever... even when I was running them off a 386.  Then again, to be fair, I've never seen an ascii game this complex, either.

Fix things up to work as streamlined as possible, given the amount of stuff.  Cache any calculation that will not change it's result.  Have stepped updates for caches (often for things that change quickly, seldom for things that do not (like tree growth))

Do that and I swear I'll pay you more money.

In vanilla 0.31.23, I generated an embarkation that crashes on unpause, with nothing changed from the start.

It's a very cold embark with everything covered in snow. Don't know if that is related. Though I'd post this here in case the great Toady One wanted to check out why.

Same problem in vanilla 0.31.24. Genned a new world (with same setting) in it, embarked in another cold environ. All water is frozen, all land is covered in snow. 0.31.24 crashes at unpause as well. I am guessing it is an identical bug at the root of this crash, but that's just a guess on my part.
