Well I don't know, the sheer amount of variables world gen sorts out through later dates and how they interact with eachother-I could see it getting slower maybe?

Great bug fix. You da bomb Toady.

My one complaint is that World Gen is now incredibly slow. 1 year of generation taking a 2-3 seconds is crazy. The whole application seems bogged down (switching between DF and another application is very slow). Probably a memory leak?

Yupp same here. Worldgen goes at 1 year/second when it used to go way, way faster. At the default year amount of 1050, it takes 17.5 minutes to make one.

I get a strange, repeating announcement from one of my fishers

The announcement is basically just his name, over and over again?

Anyone with the same problem?
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Edit: Well, looks like it stopped already. So nevermind I guess.

Wow.  I just stared a new map on .23 and the frame rate fell down to 3 fps.  I hope it's a fluke with this location.

Are you sure?  I just started somewhere else completely and it happened again.  Both maps had brooks- is it a problem with fluids draining off the side of the map?

Edi: I started at a third site, with no brook, and it has the same problem.

Does the magma draining ever stop?

Toady, Dwarf Fortress really needed these bug fixes. I am seeing a lot of players coming back and playing the game just because of these bug fixes.

I think you should keep that in mind when your doing future updates... there is nothing ever wrong when you work on bug fixes. This is great work.

I was thinking more along the lines of this legendary champion, all clad in dented and dinged up steel plate, his blood-drenched axe slung over his back, a notch in the handle for every enemy that saw the swing of that blade as the last sight they ever saw, a battered shield strapped over his arm... and a fluffy, pink stuffed hippo hidden discretely in his breastplate.

Upgraded my 31.18 fort to 31.22 and now 31.23.  It's glorious.  I got a 20 FPS boost today.

It was a beautiful sight when dwarves that had been in bed crippled for as much as 7 years all at once began filing out of the hospital.  And now today other dwarves that had been walking around with non-disabling injuries for years started filing into the hospital.  I hope they're finally planning on getting their injuries treated.  I'm a little worried that they have no diagnosis or scheduled treatments listed yet, though.

The default history length is 250 years if you use "Create a new world", or 1050 if you use "Design... advanced... thing".  The latter is probably an oversight.

This is a problem that tends to affect the entire world if it appears, as the underground lakes and magma sea seem to occupy caverns or spoilers in midair.  You should regen.
