No, not the standard field of cage traps you normally find, I mean elaborate machines of death that would make Rube Goldberg crys tears of admiration.

Basically anything relating to convoluted machines of death and their workings. Tips and advice on how to make a better mouse trap, questions regarding the design an effectiveness of your mouse trap, and mouse traps you'd like to share with others.

A Dodge ThisTM could be compacted by shortening the length of the fall and placing weapon traps at the bottom. Choke points are very useful for trap lined corridors, and making them winding and labrynthine only increases the amount of traps you can fit in, and how far any unwanted guests have to travel through them.

(hatches cover open space)

Link each hatch to the plate next to it, build ten or so in parallel, fill the weapon trap with various and sundry tools of war, and watch the goblins kill themselves.

I wonder if this trap would work...

A hatch is placed several Z levels up, a rock is on the hatch. A pressure plate triggers the hatch causing the rock to fall, killing the guy who triggered it.

You know they have regular stone fall traps for that, right? And with a bit of modding you could make a geniune cow fall trap.

I find lava rain works well. link it up to a pump system and you're good to go! gets rid of all that icky copper for you too, leaving only the precious goblinite behind.

Screw the cows >.> wait that came out wrong.

Code: [Select]
Z+0
############
     ^     O
############

Z+1
############
#==========#
############

^ is a pressure plate set to go off on anything bigger than a mouse
= is a retractable bridge linked to said plate

Fill Z+1 with Honey Badgers.

Tho most likely this will end up dropping a bunch of carcasses on the enemy, rather than pissed off Badgers.  You'll get at least one, and he'll be the strongest one possible

I just thought of the most dwarven animal fall trap ever.

Drop an elephant from a Z level!

Elephants?

Ladies and gentledwarves, I present to the audience the "Zombie Whale Drop"

Edit: it has the side effect of sometimes spawning undead petunias as well. how dwarven.
