DF World Keeps Deleting Self? And other stuff

Whenever I close DF, the world deletes itself. And Adventure mode, what can you do besides kill things? Can you forge stuff?

World deleting itself? I've never even heard of that happening. It's written out to the filesystem once you're done creating it and I don't believe anything within the game can actually delete a region folder. I believe you have to go in to the folder and delete it manually.

In adv mode you can kill things and set things on fire. All you can craft, by default, is sharpened rocks.

If you want to craft more stuff, check out the Genesis Mod. It adds crafting of bone weapons among other things. I haven't gotten around to messing with it though.

I've had the world delete itself before.  Only it doesn't precisely delete itself, it just doesn't save anything to disk.

Check your Hard Drive.  You're out of free space.

...Well... Ive had this happen to me before.
I Was playing from inside the winrar, and everytime I quit, my world was deleted.
I solved this by extracting everything into a folder, and playing from there.
If that doesn't work/this isn't the case,I Have no idea. Unless, as said Right above this post, you have no space to store the file.

If you're running Windows, there's a chance, depending on where your df directory is, that UAC is blocking df from writing to the save directory.  It seems unlikely to me that you'd have your directory in such a place, but it's happened to me with other programs.  Try moving your DF directory to the desktop and running it from there.

If you do that then you're not really running it from inside the archive, you're really running it from a tmp directory in the user tmp folder.

So if this is what happened then it should be possible to get the region folder out of the tmp dir.
