(the little blue skeleton looking thing, or purple. I'm color blind).
The game says it's a dwarf. But I've never seen one that looks like that? The dwarf isn't possessed fey or any other weirdness like that. she just arived at my fort a few minutes ago and got to work.

EDIT: You ninja'd me. But from the looks of it, that's the ghost of a dead dwarf. If the remains of a dwarven corpse aren't disposed of or paid tribute to properly, its spirit comes back to haunt the fort. So, it's not a positive thing. You can either bury the body, or ''engrave rock slabs'' in memory of the dwarf to get rid of it.
(Not sure how to engrave slabs, got that from the wiki).

Ghosts: http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/DF2010:Ghost
And here's info how to make a memorial: http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/DF2010:Memorial

Not workin' for me either. Might be easier if you posted it on an image hosting site.

EDIT: Ninja'd again. It could possibly be just the design of the potter profession in the tile-set you're using. Or a bug. What tile-set are you using, if you don't mind me asking?

I assume you were talking about the blue sprite, which looks like some sort of skeleton/ghost.
Not really familiar with that tileset, however, so I can't be of much help from just looking at a picture of the sprite.

As Urist said, it'd be helpful if you could post a view of its attributes, personality screen and so on, if that's possible.

funny side note. Posted the same thread on /v/ over at 4chan. Some one replied that they were to hardcore for fortress mode and only played adventure mode. I replied that I only play legends mode, like a fucking man.

Strange. Had a look at the Mayday tile-set; that dorf's sprite seems to be a blue version of the dwarven corpse. Possibly the sprite for potters is missing in the current version, or was never included in the first place due to the rarity of the profession. I'd just roll with it, if it doesn't affect gameplay in any way.

Good luck!

I think there was a bug in a 40d version of this tileset where doctors would appear as purple skeletons. It isn't that surprising that it happened again with a new profession.

In that case, you might consider giving a heads up to the creator in the official thread.
