I already necro a bit too much...

ON TOPIC: The global climate has been cyclical for the entirety of earth's history. The Holocene Warm Period stretched on for 5000-9000 years and was much warmer than anything which has been predicted by modern science, without any interference from humans. As well, we can't predict next weeks weather with any accuracy, let alone climate trends.

We can see the trends, after all, it is not very hard to pull up what happend last year.

And yeah. A warm period happend. But a °C every thousand years is not that impressive.

I will go as far as saying that if you were to chart the earth's climate, you would have something that looks like waves within waves within waves, and the closer you zoom in, the wavier it get.

Exactly, all previous information indicates that the climate is cyclical, and this is most likely another cycle which sentient beings just has the (mis?)fortune to encounter.

So Earth's climate is a Mandelbrot?

We could say so, yet a Mandelbrot is infinite, no matter how much you zoom in, if I remember correctly that is.
Then again, there probably are shifts in temperature at such a scale that we do not notice them.
My mind is blown.
The climate is a wave-like mandelbrot.
