What's the worst flagging related injury you've seen first hand?

If people ask to many dumb questions. Can you hit them with a flag?

How much can you abuse cars and/or drivers while still being within your bounds?
Are we talking legally, or how much the outfit I work for will let me?

Have you ever attempted to tackle someone's vehicle for not slowing down?
When I first started flagging, my instructor wacked a motorcyclist in the helmet as he drove by for not stopping.

I've seen 0 injuries.  Lots of close calls but no injuries.  You wont be satisfied with that answer though.  So, although I didn't see it.  A vehicle hit a tubular cone at high speed causing it to explode, a piece of which imbedded itself into the flaggers hand.

Legally I can stop traffic for an indefinite period of time while yelling at them, I can even force them to pull off to the side or turn around.  If they fail to obey, then they have "failed to obey traffic control personnel" and may be fined or worse depending on the circumstances.  However, the company I am traffic controlling for may be fined if they go over their permitted time alloted for traffic to be held up for.  There also may be regulations upon whether they may or may not detour traffic or stop traffic at all depending on the location.

Depending on who I've been contracted to flag for, they may want me to smile to even the people who give me the finger.  I don't like those companies.

Do you get any special privileges for being a flag supervisor, and does that mean you can flag your co-workers?

I always wondered how boring this job was.

Also, I always try to give a friendly wave to them when I see them; I figure a lot of people flick them off.
