Do you have any more puns? The first three were terrible. They were not even puns so much as nonsensical insults.

I would of tried to stop the driver, if I saw it snagged.  But at the time my lunch kit had just vanished.  I didn't know where to start looking.

I have no sense of humor when working, so flagging puns are in short supply.

Yeah. A guess humor in the guy that has probably directed tens of thousands of tons of screaming metal in his time is not a good quality.

Would it be illegal for me to dress up as a member of your profession and go around messing with people though confusing and inappropriate application of the Stop/Slow sign?

Disturbing the peace for sure.

Also judging from last night there are laws against hilarity.

How often do you actually use flags when flagging?

If you find out that a speeding driver does know the times, do you slow them down?

Often when working near ANY school, the damn kids take my flags.  Then they proceed to pretend they're air traffic controllers, (you all know what I'm talking about)

Depending on where this is, yes.  You'd need a permit to disrupt traffic.  If you disrupt traffic in a way that is hazardous and you're caught, then it's a serious offense.  If I remember a story correctly: some drunk once went through a work zone tossing channeling devices off the road and got a few years for it.

Then again, I also heard a story that flaggers in the US get paintball guns and shoot cars that run their stop signs.  Stories are stories.

I don't know about other flagging companies, but this is the proper use of flags:

They're attention grabbers on prewarning signs, tripods and windmasters.  I've never seen any other practical use for them.  The flaggers themselves would usually carry an LED strobe wand for low light, (or foggy.) situations.

I frown upon any flagger who pretends their wand is a lightsaber.

I slow traffic down if they're going at LUDICROUS speeds or if there are workers on the road.  Subjectively judging a vehicles speed by eye alone when you're on the road is guess work unless I have a long distance to make a determination, (or a signboard with radar gun attached which tells me their speed...)

(...Which I've never had, cheap ass company)

Any advice for uh... civilians who find themselves working as impromptu traffic control?  I wound up unhappily directing traffic a few times by my university when a tree came down over half of a reasonably busy (but slow) two-lane street, while waiting for the proper authorities to show up.  I had a vague sense that I was going to get someone killed, but also that they were even more likely to kill each other if nobody was standing around helping.

If they weren't paying you such a bloated salary, the company could probably afford to buy you a radar gun, Qloos.

Alright, I have another question. If you made a driver slow down, and then their car suddenly exploded, what would you do?
