Horribly broken might not be a good term... "ridiculously nonsensical" is better.

Seriously, my warm desert untamed wilds embark is 2/3 covered with grass and there are quite a lot of trees around for a sand desert.

Not to mention murky pools. In a sand desert. And no aquifer.
