"Honey, half of our house is missing!"

As I said, my line art is for crap especially combined with fill effects. Anything that has multiple copies of the same building just assume it has Many such structures, not only what you see.

Spoiler: Tarran (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Lür Celant/Trollan (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Varmint Zero/Ze Spy (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Eveyo/Wolfchild (click to show/hide)

Tarran

Steeling yourself you push out of bed, the fire in your limbs is receding and you think you're going to be alright. One of the priests quickly comes up to make sure you're alright and that you don't need any more help, you thank him but decline. You make it to the door of the main temple before your bones seem to catch fire. [Soak 5] Fire throbs through your veins as you stumble out of the makeshift infirmary and into the main of the temple, leaning on each pew for support as you go past. What's... Happening... Gasping for breath and clutching at you chest you fumble through one of the great doors and out into the light. The pain ceases instantly, vanishing without a trace of ache or bruise. This is wrong. This is very very wrong. As your hunter's eyes adjust to the much brighter light you see there's another man out here, a human and almost two feet shorter than yourself. He's flanked by a pair of Watchers. Upon seeing you the watchers immediately motion for you to join them, and they escort you out of the temple circle. As you go walk with them you look at the blasted square and the ruined head of the tower... What in earth or heaven did this?

The voices seem quiet, content to brood in your head for now.

---

Lür Celant

Ignoring the nagging feeling that tells you that this is a hideously bad idea you give yourself permission and move forwards to pick up a shard of stone from the tower, it's as long as your hand and twice as thick, inlaid on one side. You step past the watcher and kneel down to grab it.

You barely see the watcher move.

[Dodge 2 Vs Watcher blunt 1 (Negated)] The watcher lashes out with his man-catcher, apparently a little stiff from standing still for several hours he gets a cramp in his thigh and misses you completely. You dart forwards [Sleight of hand 6] and quick as a flash grab the large stone shard as well as liberating the cramping man of his catch pole with your third arm.

You then run like the wind away from the temple circle with the watchers pursuing silently and swiftly. Well that was fun, now to evade an elite cadre of guards through their own city while you figure out what the hell you just stole.

(Man-catcher added, Large hot stone shard added.)

---

Marcus Zeicaust

You pocket the coin again, this place is getting a distinctly unfriendly air. Letting them cool down might be best for now...  Something happened at the tower, and who knows, maybe Marcus Zeicaust would be the one to help. You set out with long strides for the tower, thinking absently about the murderer you're tracking down... The way he uses the spirits of his victims would leave more than enough residue to make on illegal living out of, you only wish that your criminal contact hadn't decided to have his face hammered through a crowspike.

Turning a corner out of the slums and into an alley to the side of one of the guilds you are suddenly cannonballed by a running Keyite. He's carrying a watchers catchpole, and... a rock. His clothing is quite fine, [Awareness 3] and you can see shapes running towards him from down the alley.

---

Varmint Zero

You're escorted from the temple circle along with an Aoul, the tall creature seems noticeably disconcerted. The garb is strange, but the loose hanging clothing of their kind always is to you. He carries a staff and a sword across his back and a pair of wands through his belt... a strange creature indeed. Well, you've got several hours of light left, you've already been the victim of an exploding tower, what's next?

---

Eveyo

You look around for anything out of the ordinary. Of course you're standing around the blast zone of an exploding tower that's rumored to have stood for a thousand years, so out of the ordinary is somewhat relative. [Awareness 4+1] You feel something prickling on your neck, like the energy of the stones except more... Malevolent. You look around you, opalescent eyes searching for the source. Just for a moment you think you saw something, a shadow moving without a body. Then a commotion near the watchers draws your attention, a well dressed keyite runs into the circle of watchers, grabs the catchpole away from the nearest, grabs a large stone from the ground, and then dashes off with great haste.

This is shaping up to be a very strange day.

Request that the guards tell me where I'm being taken. If they don't tell me, resist them.

You're just being taken out of the circle where the watchers are running clean up, that's all. Sorry, that wasn't too clear was it?

You were already looked over for anything unusual while you were out of it, the two emissaries in your chest ran interference.

Also, despite that failtasm with Celant the Watchers are quite competent. They traded their speech for sharper eyesight and speed. In combat they're fast, strong, and they have some skill with battle magic.

Tarran

You introduce yourself to the human next to you, you think Varmint Zero is a very peculiar name but you don't question it. He's waiting here, for what he's tight lipped about. [Speech 4] You make small talk about explosions and death. Looking at him you vaguely remember his face and that cloak from sometime earlier... [Awareness 4] Out of the corner of you eye you see something flicker across the mouth of the alley between guildhouse and barracks, strange, probably just a cat.

The voices in your head speak up again, more urgent now. "Savage, if you want to live I suggest finding a boat or the darkest shadows you can find."

---

Varmint Zero

You wait, the Aoul with you is named Tarran. He talks, you grunt your assent at several things. He looks awfully bloody familiar to the Aoul you pulled out of the square earlier. Ah, big eyed freaks, all look the same.

---

Lür Celant

No one stops Lür Celant! They aren't close enough to hit with the mancatcher (thankfully)  so you throw it at their knees instead. [Ranged 5, Watcher dodge 1, 4+2, 4+2] The same watcher who you liberated the catchpole from completely fails to dodge the careening pole and it tangles his legs, tripping him to the cobblestones. The other two watchers bound over their companion, they seem to know the benefits of warming up before physical labor. Pushing yourself free of the man you ran into you continue running, zigzagging through the slums in an attempt to lose them. [Stealth 1 Vs Awareness 5+1] It doesn't work at all. The two members of the watch are closing fast and you take an incredible series of turns through the slums trying to get some distance to hide again. [Agility 2 Vs Agility 2] You don't gain any more ground, but at least they don't gain any either.

---

Marcus Zeicaust

You extricate yourself from the Keyite and watch as he throws the catchpole at the men pursuing him before running again. Huh, watchers. Little Keyite must be in some trouble with the law then. [Int 5+1] They're going to have to turn back west if they don't want to run into the river, and the keyite will stay off the main streets if he has any brains in his head...  You give chase, [agility 3+1] vaulting to the roof of one of the buildings, flanking out to where you think the Keyite is going to be.

You only have to wait a couple of seconds before he dashes into view, two buildings over. You've got a good lead on him and you could probably intercept him or shoot him if you needed to. The two members of the watch still tailing him aren't far behind... this may resolve quickly.

---

Eveyo

You chase the running man with all haste, three members of the watch ahead of you. Midway through the guild alleys the lead watcher stumbles with a pole tangled in his legs, his partners jump him and you [Agility 3] follow suit much less gracefully. You chase the watchers, your longer legs giving you a fair advantage in this race. [Agility 3+1] The chase twists and turns out of the guilds and into the slums, the Keyite seems to be leading the watch on a merry chase with you in tow.

You are chasing the watchers, who are chasing the Keyite, who is chasing his freedom.

"Damn voices in my head again. Oh well, I'm sure it'll go away sometime."

Ignorant of the obviously divine beings in my head, go to the Inn. Invite Varmint Zero to join me.

Also, in case you haven't noticed, Tarran isn't a very superstitious guy.
