I have a bunch of wrestlers sparring in my current game, so i smithed up a load of armour for them. One of my elite wrestlers sparred with someone else wearing armour, and he ended up grabbing his chain mail and pulling it off. I was trying to work out how to get him to drop it so the other guy could put it on again, so I told the guy holding it to pick up two axes (so he'd need to drop what was in his hands). He did, but instead of dropping it, he just held a chain mail and an axe in his right hand.

Happened to me too, but the military dwarf in question was holding an artifact he created and didn't want to drop it. So I made him train in wrestling instead.

I had a dwarf weild two crossbows and carry a dead wolf around in his right hand only.

Two crossbows?  That sounds like a bug on its own.

I've got all my marksdwarves set to use two crossbows, and they do indeed hold them both in one hand. I'm not sure if they're firing faster or not.
