Toggle-able Boogeymen
« on: March 23, 2011, 09:40:19 am »

Howdy, just thought i'd pop it as a simple suggestion since a quick glance through the searches didn't bring it up.

The ability to toggle boogeymen on world generation.

Since some people don't seem to enjoy it, and newer players may find it as just an unpleasant experience I figured why not suggest it. I do rather enjoy them myself but I do wish there were times when I could travel at night unhindered. Boogeymen should be an option that allows players to increase the challenge of adventure mode.

Any thoughts?

Just having a companion is enough to get rid of boogeymen. Before then, stick to the towns till you reach a fortress.

However, as I've seen in the Adventure mode discussions, there are some people who just find them un-enjoyable or sheer annoying.Just having the ability to toggle them gives the player the preference to turn it off if they do not like the addition.

It would be cool if you would stop copy and pasting that as a form response and consider following the rules:
"Try to make a contribution. If you like a suggestion, say why you like it and try to refine it if possible. If you don't like a suggestion, say why and be civil about it. "

There have been several topics on bogeymen. I'm assuming bogeymen will be nerfed in the future and be localized to specific troubled regions or something, we should probably see how that works out before crying about the whole thing.

Pretty much.   They're a new feature and representative of the concept of 'dangerous nights' and literally only exist as they do now to point that out.
