On the other hand, the civies are going to put up all the infrastructures you want, and for free too. You'll even gain taxes!

What are the minerals' accessibility? This stats is evem more important than total number. And also, was my scientist set in?

Venus may be hard to colonise, but as sheb says. Taxes on exports :D and Venus is a veritable gold mine of resources. Eventually I'll turn them into miners, right now its automated mines :D

Great, I'm in charge of a flying ball of ice and dust.  Will I even be in the solar system when I decide to retire?
Hey, look on the bright side: You'll get perfect view of the entire galaxy from there.

Seriously, civies are retarded. I'll stick some mines on it in a while, wait for it to come close and collect them :D

If venus turns out to be a pain, I can easily ferry the civies off it to Mars or somewhere.

I'd like to be some kind of naval officer. Perhaps one on an exploration unit, jumping into virgin star-systems and (eventually) dying a fiery death at the hands of hostile aliens.

Granted.

I'd like a Scientists, if possible specialized in PP, MK or EW.

Also, I propose a new medal: Minerva's Blessing: an award to scientist that made a breakthrough in some important field.

Added, missed this post somehow. 15% PP :D
Minerva's Blessing(500PP)
Awarded to a scientist making great progress and pushing the boundrys of science for the Empire.
So far the only medal for scientists. Other than possible civic crown.

Lol, seriously, a comet mining colony? And here I wondered if it's even possible :P.

Make me a leader of any new colony you want.

P.S. Can we get a screenshot of that comet's orbit?

Don't forget to use mass drivers to transfer the minerals.

It just comes in past Saturn and shoots passed the sun, it goes fairly slow though, so its not a problem catching up to it.

Also governor of Venus hugehead improved his ship building skills(good luck using that on venus).

I haven't forgot, theres just  abacklog of production right now :D

some comets, orbit at very long distances leaving the solar system and coming back... eventually, like 20 year orbits or more, many a man have went to mine on comets, and stayed on the rock for 20 years and died by the time the comet came back to sol and was reachable by ships again ^_^.

highly amusing.

Lol indeed.

The commercial company Photius has built their first cargo ship, I expect them to supply Venus for me now. A grav sensor ship is being built, Ahra got sick and his health is now 'fair'.

Umm. and Sheb has researched our 'Commercial Nuclear Hyperdrive Engine'. Yeah, I thought I was creative with that name too. I'll stick it on my scout and see how it does.

Also congrats to Ahra, he got posted to Fleet HQ this tour. As Survey officer(Was previously flying survey ships).

*jump drives are nearly researched too.

Well, in my experience, they are worthless except if you need to fly often from a star to its primary. Otherwise, they just take space for nothing.

I'll join up with the Legion as a commander of a massive Battleship. Granted this won't happen for a while since you just started out, but I'm patient. :D

Never heard of this game until now, so colour me interested, I love space!
I'll sign up. Since I have no idea what's going on, just assign me to something interesting, preferably on the frontier, once we've colonised other systems. Either a small patrol vessel (do those exist?) or something of the sort.
Or, if all else fails, put me in charge of a cargo ship haha.
