You honestly can't find any browser better than IE6? Theres a ton of non-major browsers.

No, it's mainly for emphasis, because describing any browser as worse than IE6 is a massive insult, at least from the attitude associated with IE6 (mainly hatred, when the reality is that it is merely severely outdated, and windows 98 compared to XP or 7 is very similar to IE6 compared to anything in the past 2 years or so).

But, if Firefox drops the address bar (or whatever they call it), it will be worse than IE6 in my opinion, and nobody wants that to happen, right? (And, since even telnet is better than IE6, these days...)

I use firefox for adblock and noscript, that's about it. Unfortunately those don't work on anything else, and I refuse to use Chrome because I'm sure it's tracking me. I REALLY hope Mozilla doesn't screw with the URL bar.

I'm pretty sure I'm running adblock plus right now.
Fake-edit: also found a noscript-like plugin for Opera. Thanks for the heads-up.

The only tracking Google does in Chrome is anonymous bug reports and local-side parsing (IE not sent to their servers) so that it can improve the search bar results. Otherwise, nothing of your personal data is saved any differently.

qwertyuiopas,
You clearly have absolutely no idea why people hate IE6. Most of the hate was generated by developers having to develop for it - it is just really poorly built, and was when it came out, and people refused to switch when better versions became available so the web as a whole has been severely held back by the need to develop for a browser that gives a mighty screw you to any sort of standards or even consistency. It made graceful degradation nearly impossible - it wasn't the things it didn't do that were the problem, it was the things it did wrong.

But anyways!

I think I'm gonna give Chromium a try soon, see if I don't feel more at home with that.

Hate is a euphemism. Hell, my dwarves getting torn apart toe by toe by tentacle clowns have it easier than what I'd do to the people responsible for IE6, and somewhat in extension, 7. IE8 is finally somewhat decent.

I hope that 'app.update.auto' set to false in my config will prevent this :P

Are you still alive? Is that version rabid? Did it ate some bars?

Derp, my FF is 4.0.1 and claims that it's up to date. Lucky me I guess.

Has anyone been experiencing issues with their first tab not being able to close?

I don't know exactly when it happened, but recently, without getting any new extensions/addons or even options tweaked for FF, the first tab always functions, but will never close, even when it's scripted to. It's odd and inconvenient.
