1st attempt:
"Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime."

30 Bing translations later:

"How to eat, fish and fishery products, whether or not, and never be used as a food for life: Nauki."

Haitian Creole was where it really started to leave the tracks:
Quote
Back to English : Give a man a fish and feed him. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for life.
Haitian Creole : Fè yon moun nan yon pwason ak manje l. Anseye yon moun pou poissons ak nou manje l' pou lavi.
Back to English : Have somebody in a fish and food. Teach a man poissons and we had a meal of him for a life.

2nd attempt:
"The mountains are high, and the Emperor is far away."

...30 translations later Bing and Google give us:

"Shangaohuangdiyuan place."

0_o.....that first one is the actual pinyin of the English phrase. Looks like Bing just translated the phonetics of the characters instead of the meaning. After that, all subsequent translations treated it as a loanword or proper name and didn't translate it.

3rd attempt:
"And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you." (Ezekiel 25:17, from Pulp Fiction)

...10 translations later Bing gives us:

"Marriage, attempts to kill his brother, the great vengeance and furious. You can stop the strike. Note that multiple time teachers."

What. Man, that went south with a quickness.

"Bananas are an excellent source of potassium."

...50 translations later Bing and Google give us:

"Sheng dilwit his bananas, potassium is closed."

"Autobots, transform and roll out!"

...50 translations later Bing and Google give us:

"Drink plenty of water." (WHAT?!? How the... what in the... WHAT?!)

Similarly,:
"I say we take off and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."

...50 translations later Bing and Google give us:
 (several variants)
"The Rainbow in my body." (...)
"Visit the available materials." (...)
"We Flo. Card." (.!?)
"• Check equipment for nuclear power plants. It is the only way." (okay, that's closer. But what's with the dot?)
"The only way to remove the prostate." (okay, I give up)

edit: oh sure, right after I submitted the post it gave me the only sane result:

"This is so good that we had to leave."

I can't agree more.

Good film quotes seem to excel at this.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
""The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist." (The Usual Suspects)

...10 translations later Bing gives us:

"Satan, the ever expanding knowledge ensures the world no longer exists."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
"And I guess that was your accomplice in the wood chipper. " (Fargo)

...30 translations later Bing gives us:

"I would like to, but partners, 3."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
"I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries." (Monty Python & The Holy Grail)

...30 translations later Bing gives us:

"Black President, "Hamster criciuma, dark". The Oldest." (wtf?)

56 later:

My friend?

I don't want to have to do this but you've forced my hand.
56 later:

No, but I know.

Though after it went to Welsh the first time, shit got interesting.

...50 translations later Bing and Google give us:

"A group of just 10 million people."
(Believe it or not, that's not the biggest deviation. One of the previous translations was "I don't have a staff of just 10 billion.")
