I hate to point that, but he has a pretty good reason: since you claimed most of Northwestern Imperia, he had no choice to expand but to attack you or Taricus. And since Taricus is his BFF...

<3 Taricus <3

Also, John is still threatening me with a painful death. What’s up with that.

I'd hit the blockade, and use what navy i had to defend the route

Yeah, but he'd be back with superior troops rather quickly...

What I am disapointed about is that everyone looks to my disadvantages and not my strengths in this war. I think I have a good enough chance to survive.

the combined income of 2 or 3 nations is greater than what he can pull from a blockade

Actually, looking at my own turn, it seems like wounded units don't fight. That means that I'd get 3 Galleons and 9 Mariners againt at most 6 mariners and 3 pirates. And I'd have Hero bonus as well, if I commit Bearskin. With a possibility of turning some of them to my side.

You've got mariners tech, make sure to throw this promo on bearskin before you fight.

Mariner:  £400.  Increases upkeep by £20.  The hero gains expertise fighting aboard ship and in ship-to-ship combat.  His offensive and defensive bonuses to leading naval or amphibious units incfrease by 3.  Tech:  Mariners.

Take out those wounded galleons. When they're loaded up with mariners, it becomes that much more difficult.

Logically, it makes no sense for him to be making the whole amount he is blocking. I mean not everyone is going to be dumb enough to try to run it.

What I am disapointed about is that everyone looks to my disadvantages and not my strengths in this war. I think I have a good enough chance to survive.

If you would quite simply read the messages I respond to you with, you will find I do address your so called strengths and say why they do not scare me.

He'd still make a fair amount of money from a blockade though, in bribes for safe passage. People still gotta get through, and if they have the goods, they pay...

Well, since I don't have access to any taxes or ressources, it's fair to think that no ships is going through.

Fluff discussion!

Well, I mean "illegal" stuff, of course, as there would be no taxes on that.

Where there's a demand, there's a supplier-it wouldn't suprise me if the pirates are running their own black market trading rings in your cities and getting rich that way.

Well, if they could bypass my coast guards, they could bypass the pirates. Or land a bit further.

I think pirates would be more efficent at defending their obscene profits than coast guards would be at their government paychecks.

Its foolish to think I have no chance at winning. I think its quite possible I may win.

Edit: I am also reciving a merc task force from [NAME DISCLOSED]. It gives me a much higher chance, even if its just Skrimishers and Light Macemen. But in the unlikely chance its full of Heavy Swordmen and Longbowmen, Cript will think thrice before he even gets near Steel again.
