Well yeah, but at least it offers a central area to protect from piracy.

Bentish coast looks like a great place for a lot of trade. And elephants.

@Cript: He has NO military units, and next turn he will just have two crappy spears. And hes next to 2 empires who can kill him in a turn or two. Seriously, that is BEGGING to be killed.

True enough I guess. It just seems like a large risk. We'll see how the GM handles it. He already hinted at piracy after all.

Not all trade is flowing through here. Actually, I'm roleplaying it as a large, cosmopolitan trad ehub, but it's just a stop on a long, single trade road going from Grouting to Cauldron. It's no more of a trading hub than Farland or Arcadia, I'm just getting piracy because I sent two caravans already.

And at least I am investing in enough ship to keep my water clean. Taricus, if you want to be the Empire's First Sea Lord, you should invest a bit more in your navy.

P.S. John. I cannot strike him cause he got his troops right in my richest regions. And I have sworn to protect him. And I can draw on three other player's military to do so. His position is actually one of the strongest in the game (Having a large army to protect him, and strategically placed troops to arm-wrestle me into protecting him if needed)

Perfect. Also, I'm writing up your respective titles and stuff. (Cript, I'm going to put your faction as a "free city", like Hamburg was in the HRE, is that okay?) Anything special you want? (Like First Sea Lord for Taricus). Those titles are mostly for fluff, but will become more worthy when the Empire got some land of his own (using the alliance rules Iituem posted). Taricus will be in charge of any ship built by the Empire for exemple.

A large fleet in one tile, cuts off a large amount of trade wealth. Its entirely possible the concentrated wealth flowing through that tile is whats gonna draw pirates. Remains to be seen though.

I however, would be on board with everyone with a trade route running through that sea tile, putting in  a few ships for piracy defense. Should it be required. I think thats something everyone could agree to. (This will likely amount to everyone, as my connection is through Foul, to Brent, to beyond. Taricus will go through Cript, to Brent, and beyond. Dwarmin will go through Foul, to Brent, and beyond.. So on.)
We follow the trade routes already going, so..yeah. Just makes sense to me to defend that tile.
