No, phantom soldiers can hold territory - so long as the people they're subjugating can't pierce the illusion, it still works.

Ah but I am fair sure Demonic Spoon would pay for that knowledge, then you could pass it along and, for RP reasons, give it up for a profit to your nation.

Indeed. How does infantry training I for summon zombies sound?

I have to wonder how fireflies can hold land. The mental image of them flying up the the local Governor and saying "Ey! Bub! We owns this land now! You don'ts do what we says and well burn the shit out of you!" in a tiny but stereotypically Irish voice is hilarious.

Its the stereotypical Irish voice that truly pushes it into the realm of comedic gold.

Observation: Kashyyk can wipe out adwarf RIGHT NOW. Seriously, it would just take one turn to cripple him, and a another to wipe him off the planet.

Not saying that he should. That shiny vassage to Sheb protects him, and not because he get there to save him in time, but because kashyyk has a nice trade agreement. That would be endangered should he attack (and most certainly kill) adwarf.

It was his foolish playing that got him into this, and now he has to live in the fear of a sudden and game ending attack to him for this turn.

JF: I noticed that too. Good thing that's not my plan (for now) :D

And Spoon: Agreed.

My question is why "For now"?

The chance to take a entire player faction and gain an income increase of 800 (The captial will be destoried) is right there, that is something to seriously consider.

Because numerically? Its not worth it. It destroys any chance of trade with the New Empire (Which is quite lucrative!). And makes enemies at a stage when its not necessary to make enemies.

Why have 10% percent of a nations income when you can have 100% of it?

If he maneuvered his soldiers well and choose the right places to train, he could easily fight back a invastion.

And here is the big question of them all "Why vassal an Player for partial control when you can win easily for complete control?"

Edit: And now I am sounding like a Manipulative bastard that would kill the dog for food and resources without a moments thought. This is what it is like to be Devious.  :P

Why antagonise a powerful group when there is still plenty of land left unclaimed? I can claim all that and then come back for the player nations. Wait a minute, why I am telling everyone my entire game strategy?  :P

The dance of politics. If I were to suddenly have say double my income, people would look at me carefully. Watch my moves with great scrutiny. If I took out another player to achieve that? Even more so. If that player had allies? Yet more so.

None of us are yet capable of holding onto our lands. We are petty warlords with no -real- power yet.

Excuse me, now'll I'm going to keep you from the world.

Why do you act so harshly to me? I am being perfectly logical.

Also, that would be the case if this was real life. This is not, and our people do not care if we annex and kill an entire continent even they would not care.

No, that's not devious.  Devious is doing it in such a way that nobody sees it coming until it's already happened.  And sorry, Falcon, you're just not sharp enough yet to be devious.  It may come with time, but for one you talk too much.  The devious players don't reveal anything.

Which is why you should all be terrified of hubris.
