Yeah, only single unit types, with a relevant ability you'd want on your hero, should be promotable. So you'll proly have to keep that in mind price-tag wise.
Should work out though, not that -I- want to combine casters with heroes , just curious if others could, should the mood take them.

There's an old copy of the battle script back in Sheb's C@W game, it's coded in Python.  I'm not too keen to post the current version, in part because it's very unfinished, not at all annotated and in part because I'd quite like to keep hold of the code in case I decide to do anything with it.  Not that that's likely, there are plenty more games out there that do it even better, but the internet survives on the Long Tail; niches are where people like me would survive if I made it into a proper game.  Toady One's continued existence is proof of that.

And well, casters fit the hero mould anyway.  It's a bit like Warlords and Casters from Erfworld, if anyone reads it (awesome little comic).

Sorry to hear about the annexy I have the same thing myself. I deal with it with rage, but each to his own. Also, the reason I have not been posting about the politics going down in the tempest republic is because, with the possible exception of Taricus, you guys can do shit all about it.

Every Faction has its own Religon. I can already tell that this will not end well.

I don't.

ALSO: What? We can have none hero casters?!?

Sheb, I may need that money after all!

http://inventwithpython.com/ - I believe this was the first ever tutorial I read for Python.  It should demystify a lot of it for you, and more to the point you'll have fun.  You'll need to download Python to use it.  Be warned that you'll be a long way from making games you can give to other people, but for forum games and the like where you just need to do calculations and you don't need to worry about it being a standalone program it's great.

Python is easily the easiest program to get into for a beginner.  It's very forgiving.

Sheb.

Maybe some more later to other players.

I was expecting that I would not have lost both battles. Now I may have to put off my trading.

Aye.. You should have won at least one of em. Course, I don't actually expect Spearmen to do much but die, in fantastic droves. Yer not doing too badly though. Perhaps a push into economy, and some Macemen?
Or a hero!

Yeah. The idea is fire flies now. The caravan should net enough to buy a small force of them...

Assuming Sheb can loan me the 300 pounds I should be able to attack with them by turn 9.

Fireflies should win you a fair number of battles, 22 attack? Yeah. Bit expensive but hey, I'd buy em if I had access to em. Still need real troops for defense but..yeah.

I plan on making trade with everyone. And I mean EVERYONE.

Captialist bastard FTW.

And honestly, I do not care who wins, as long as I make a profit now.
