Yeah..Expensive cold wars are so terrible for business. We can do business instead. A cold war of business!

Mutually beneficial profitable arrangements of course! Just like mother used to make.

By which I meant if you and me got in a cold war, CG would come out with so much cash it would not be funny.

At anyrate, since we are already trading, I do not see what else we can do in that vein.

Joint attacks, agreements regarding the military build up in provinces adjacent or near each other, So on so forth.
..Yeah theres really not a lot we can do. But at least we can not build up ridiculously.

And CG is gonna get wealthy -anyways-. Not even as a result of us. Probably.

I dunno. I plan on making him at least moderately wealthy.

He is just so useful, and the more money I sift though him, the less likely he is to kill me dead.

Also, I do not think we will have any borders, so we will not have that issue for a while….

Well, I mean, I could send fliers to attack your lands, and you could send navies to harass me… But it hardly seems worth the effort.

I just hope nobody takes the business I do personally... at some point I may get bored and start doing jobs for free just to prove a point

Like diving for pearls amongst the giant man eating clams that live of the coast of Farland?

The pearls are worthless, except to Gnomes, who use them as paperweights.

I don't take what you do personally, CG old friend. Bandits have to eat after all. Why, if things get bad we'll have to open soup kitchens for them.

Early Winter 1006

So it would appear to me that certain persons among the raiders need a swift kick in the ass. I asked them to cut trade to the entire United Provinces and instead all they did was block random passing merchants. Some days I wonder why we're all out here when those that claim to want the freedom that we're fighting for can't seem to follow simple directions. None of it truly mattered in the end anyway. From what I hear, Roberts' fleet isn't blockading Brentian seas anymore and no one knows where Roberts went at all. I was just finally starting to get some answers to my questions for him when the last courier I sent returned, empty-handed, claiming he couldn't find Roberts anywhere. I guess we'll see...

I cut a deal with a rather unliked fellow and his comrades to defend what was left of Ariani holdings from the Free Tempests invading. Yeah sure. Fredrick gave us the startup capital to fund this little excursion into freedom we so desperately wanted, but we'll never succeed if we don't take every job offered us. So sure, I cut a deal with the Ariani. The problem was mostly that this past season wasn't kind to my men - we had so many wounded and out of commission. The funds they provided just recently arrived as well. Finding skilled hands in combat needing the cold hard coins we offer isn't usually too hard, but we still require the coins to hire them in the first place. This coming season should prove better suited for what's left of the Ariani holdings anyway. I have, however, heard that one of the southern empires on the mainland has offered refuge for the Ariani. All is not lost then if we fail, but we will surely take a hit to our credibility. Though, given what we have had to work with, I don't see how anyone could have expected us to turn back an entire empire.

Heh.  I like that we got 9 turns in pretty short order, and now the long wait for Sheb, Hubris and JF kicks in.
