I'd say to invest the money locally for more tech/iincome to beat the pirates.

Well...you have to extrapolate it...

A single, tiny group of caravans from the Greenblood Union carrying chests equaling 2000 pounds gold could probably get anywhere on the continent without much trouble, in less than a year. Same thing with how we do tech trades and communicate with each other.

I would guess all of our troop and diplomatic units represent massive amounts of forces moving and establishing supply lines/diplomatic inroads/trading routes what have you.

In theory yes Dwarmin. But we have to pay bribes to get our units across the Old Empire, and Roberts has the naval routes sewn up.

Honestly? My paranoia just ratcheted up a few notches is all. Theres every possibility that Iituem has some nasty plans in store for anyone trying to break the blockade in the next few turns.

Hey, it really only all of Sheb's ships that sunk, everyone else has some sort of trade.

Not exactly it. The Pirates have rules like everyone else. And like I said, they are stopping 6k in trade each turn PLUS what they raid from Shebs area. That is a lot of cash, I would go so far to say they might be the richest fraction there is.

Everybody suffers though, this is the first turn that my income from trade doesn't pay my upkeep costs.

@Cript, yes. Another reason why I'd like to split our loot :p

Let's hope the pirates use on their stolen riches on rums and wenches, instead of pumping out galleons to take over the world.

Oh shi...

So guys, this is a little embarrassing, but there was a thing in the GD forum and I was quite rude to some people who did not really necessarily deserve it. I might be looking at a couple of days mute soonish when Toady combs though it in a couple of hours.

I just wanted to give you guys a heads up that I might have issues posting turns for a short while.

Here's an idea: make reparations to the trade-net through a different route, because Roberts cannot possibly cover off all ocean tiles in the world. a few places that would work are  the sea between cauldron and grouting and the sea directly east of the pirate blockade

Or sheb can just bribe the empire to get a land route with foul.

Yeah, let's just assume the Empire takes less than 1 pound of Gold to let a small diplomatic envoy in.

And let's assume, that's just paid out of pocket by the diplomat we sent.

Stop overthinking it, guys.

Or just that a few persons carrying money or knowledge can easily crept through the Empire's borders, while a large caravan cannot.

Harbor of Southern Aelstorm, Kingdom of Brent, year 1005

The groups of hardy Mariners had flowed in steadily since noon. Some were locals-those who had suffered and lost the most from pirate raids, and were eager for revenge.

From the Greenblood Union, came bloodthirsy Sea Gnolls and their Shamanic protectors-they were pirates themselves, but were being paid generously to fight on Brent's side today.

From the United Provinces, a meager force of Orcs and Humans, but well trained and motivated.

The Free Tempests Republic had sent the most-well trained marines, expert shipwrights, navigators, helmsmen and naval tacticians.

The three ships were being constructed slow but steady, in the hope they could finally lift the blockade, and restore peace to the oceans...
