Ah, those rates would explain why I got too many EPs and just one UP on embark in Sorcerer's fork. The frequency of Alicorns is fitting. With these numbers most forts will be lucky to get one or two, and the caste could get even more buffed up without upsetting the overall balance much. The Female to Male ratio seems about right, tough of course with monogamy that means fewer children (who got more plentiful and annoying in 0.34 anyway).

As for EPs, I do welcome some miners, farmers, woodcutters, and the like, but after those needs of the fort are fulfilled, guess which caste is going to field the most soldiers. This reminds me of a quote I took from somewhere for my never to be Fallout Equestria fanfic: "Such a task is only fitting for those idiotic earth ponies, who have no abilities aside from populating the world with useless idiots everyday."

That's another thing my earth ponies got btw, 200 aptitude in kicking and their bucks pack a punch!
soyeah, they're probably well suited for the military, but then again, so are pegasi for their speed and unicorns for their shield usage...

Could be that earth ponies simply live longer. About 1.5 times longer would be a good starting point, even if most worlds will not last to the point you will have ponies die of age in your fort. Hence, while Pegusi and Unicorns are still great, world gen favors Earth ponies skill-wise due to gaining in power as they fight during there longer lives.

On the other hand, to offset general Pegusi epicness, we could bump down there lifespan. After all, have we even seen a elderly pegusi in the show? Nope.

Tho actually, pony lives are alot shorter than dwarf lives because it means migrants are generally younger... Having your entire party being 80+ years old is kinda weird...

Earth Ponies: 80:150

My Little Pony - Fanon is Magic 1.0 beta release

Just thought I'd upload the update for the new version, It has a couple of bugs still, but nothing gamebreaking i think.
Again, this is prepackaged with phoebus tileset and a natural color set for easy-on-the-eye viewing.

Finally got NLR and SE to war! the [CAN_LEARN] instead of [INTELLIGENT] bit did the trick! Thanks for the assistance to those who mentioned it!


I was contemplating doing something fancy with the new interaction system... I know there's been lots of different versions of assorted "Research" reactions where you bring this and that together to accumulate enough research points in the form of items, which you can then use in a reaction to create a different item.
We've also seen that its possible to transmit syndromes via boiling rock, which can be the end result of a reaction.

So I've been toying with the idea of making some caste specific "magic boosts"
For instance if you accumulate 500 research points and possibly collect a rare gem (that is a zebra toy/trade goods), you can create a spell tome that would teach a single unicorn a sleep spell.
Ideas of magic boosts:

Unicorn Magic - Sleep Spell, Heal Spell, Ranged Attack
Pegasus Magic - Burst of speed
Earth Pony - Stat boosts - Massive Recuperation boost on flee?
Generic - Give somepony butterfly wings for X time?

I'd love to hear some feedback on this, especially considering my initial idea was to make a less uh.. feature heavy version of the ponymod :P

could you sum up what exactly the difference between Fanon is Magic and My Little Fortress is? other than that they run different versions, that is. if there's a point in the thread when you did this already, could you link to that?
