you know.. it occurs to me that this mod needs diamond dogs as a subterranean race
also, i embarked on an area with "natural" wheat worms.. O_O dear lord that was creeeepy
Maybe instead of (or in addition) to the wheat worms you could add some of the veggies they plant in WWU. you know.. apples, carrots, sellery stocks, colorful flowers too.
I'm working on the diamond dogs, though I've got them set up as a kobold-style thief civ. People have mentioned the demon grass effect, it tends to be less pronounced now that I've lowered the frequency and take the alignment tags off of angel hair and blood worms, though I'll look at using vermin in reactions, see if I can make a way to "tame" worms.
Carrots and celery will be in, and I'll probably be adding a new workshop to take on ent care and splitting carrots and celery into stalks and leaves. Flowers, I'm not sure what could be done with them. I've already got poison joke as a grey dye/valuable extract plant. I suppose I could make flowers processable into potash, since flowers are sometimes used to attract predators that feed on crop-damaging insects, or I could make extracts/dyes from them.
I had an idea a little while ago about making a cocktail mod. Rather than just brew something up and that be it, various extracts and so on could be used to make more complex and valuable drinks. This could make flowers more valuable as a source of a valuable flavouring to make expensive drinks. If I add in pineapple and various citrus ents, it would be possible to mix pineapple juice and Curaçao together with dwarven syrup and dwarven rum to make dwarven Blue Hawaiis, for example. Adding in brewable coffee beans would pave the way for horse milk white Russians. I could even add a proper distillery for making spirits and see about giving them the right tags to be used to clean wounds, or flavour them with flower extracts. Has anyone done something like this before? Disabling cocktails would be as simple as taking out the reaction permissions. I'd probably make up more dwarven/pony-related names.
mross, the longland grass to hay switch gives me an idea. Hay is normally dried out grasses, rather than a specific plant. Cave wheat, longland grass and so on could be processed with a custom reaction, so we'd have cave wheat hay, longland grass hay, and so on, with supply mostly limited by which civs get the custom reactions.
thetyler101, if those changes seem to be working, tell us what they are!
