Dwarves and the EPA
« on: March 21, 2011, 03:05:21 pm »

Here is a thread for true After fortress statements as to why the EPA would hate dwarves.

After: Fields of ash and charred stumps from fire or magma.
After: Strip-mined to the planets core.
After: Invaded by demons, FB, or MB.
After: Corpses and ghosts everywhere.

Feel free to add your own.

Killing endangered animals.

On the other hand, the EPA might actually like some fortresses (like that one Sphalerite set up to breed sea serpents) were it not for the fact that the animals that are bred there are killed for their meat, hide, and bones.

I haven't had too many problems with the EPA when they visit my forts.  But I tend to buy up all their cloth and dye it rather than turning my trade depot into a drowning chamber, so YMMV.

You could have berries on the rocks and the dwarves would say it was "berry gneiss."
You should die horribly for this. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.

I think the EPA inspector might have something to say about the enormous pile of whale and shark carcasses from all the bycatch I had to go through before I caught a breeding pair of sea serpents...

Good call, but the elves are not the only sufferers. More like the elven run EPA. Humans would not care about the land.
