HAVE YOU SEEN THIS SHIT?!

HAVE YOU?!

Basically, there is a debate in Britain that we should switch our voting system to proportional representation in order to allow a better system of voting than the current "one of two parties in power".

And then they put these posters up. These absolutely bullshit posters that remind me more of American politics than anything else.

I just... Hate that poster so much.

You should deface it. For democracy. Draw a mustache on that guy.

The military sends people into combat inadequately equipped when they face budget cuts? That's slightly more of a problem than a lack of funding, what the hell are they doing with their soldier's lives?

How many bulletproof vests does one guy need?

I mean really. 250 million pounds can buy a lot of bulletproof vests.

Not when jobs are on the line they can't! In that sort of situation, you might get 5 or 6. For the good of the country!

Maybe try fighting less wars first.... Starting with changing the government that starts them.

Yeah, maybe if we had a fairly elected government then we wouldn't be involved in so many pointless wars in the first place?

Look at it this way, a set of body armor of the type I wear right now is about $1800 for me to replace if I lose it (actually, it's probably a bit more, I just can't be fined more than one paycheck for anything, generally). Not all that much.

Won't you be in more trouble than that if you loose your body armor ? 0o

The only examples of IOTV's getting lost that I know of were cases where someone had left their stuff in a car and it mysteriously vanished.

Yeah, and a few hundred dollars mysteriously appeared in their wallet. They had big problems with that a few years back at Ft. Bragg, guys in ordnance annd logistics "losing" the occasional firearms, ammo and/or armor. They finally got nailed when they got greedy and decided trying to "lose" whole crates of hand grenades.

Woah, does it work the same for the airforce?

Yeah, IOTV's aren't sensitive items, so there's a bit of leway in how they get stored. Although the armor plates have actual serial numbers, and I had to get up and leave one of these computers a few days ago to write them down. It's not like I have the only XS size plates on this base or anything.

I think so. Just remember that it's still a felony if you get caught losing that A10.

Britian can't afford a lot of things right now, but I'm pretty sure the Tommies already have body armor.

Besides, body armor is a luxury of the last fifteen years. What ever happened to bright red jackets and good, regimental discipline?
