I rememmber that goblins used to have towers(with prisoners) and dwarfs had these big toilets in the mountain side called "Mountain homes" and Elfs had these big grazing fields where all the Elvis would gather and have a big concert. WHERE THE HALL ARE THEY!? They show up on the adveture map but they are GONE! Why?

There's a search function kiddos. Anyway, after the towns revamp only human style villages still exist. Though I think dark towers may or may not be functional. The rest are just uninhabited space.

There's probably a new framework representing area population (and now tools, food and crafts) which didn't go well with the old type of settlements. I am sure there is a reason why they are gone, I mean before all the new sprawl stuff they were just 3x3 areas on the map which apparently do not work with the new big "locations" used for new towns, farms and landmarks.

Interestingly, when I had my adventurer camp on top of what was supposed to be a goblin settlement, he was instantly attacked. The group of goblins didn't seem to have a leader the way regular ambushes do. I wonder just how the game keeps track of sites right now, since they definitely don't show up if you visit the place normally. I'm also open to the possibility that it was just a coincidence.

Human civs are the template on which Toady is building the whole trade/resource production network. And eventually the war and politics arcs. It makes sense that he got working Human civ sites first, and will get them working for trade and warfare, so that when he goes back to make the other civs, with their architectural, politics and resource differences, he's already got a fully working example to pull from.

If he'd gone civ by civ building all the site maps first, then adapted each for trading, then each for warfare....we probably wouldn't be seeing the trade arc for another few years.

I think we should make a sticky locked thread with just this post.

For ***'s sake.
