Yay for bugfixes!
« on: March 21, 2011, 04:09:25 am »

Who else is getting excited about the next release after seeing all those bugs getting squished?

Quote from: Toady One
I have a few more bugs I want to look at, and some sponsorship beasts to add, and then I'll put up the next release. Here's the latest:
  • fixed up bone artifacts
  • stopped crash in linux from critters with kill orders on them leaving the map
  • stopped a crash from tileless burrows
  • cleaned up a lag problem from ghosts and some other general lag issues
  • made recentering hotkeys work in dwarf modes with cursors
  • stopped surgery cancellation over patient not resting in some circumstances
  • fixed fish availability problems based on temperature (old saves will still be missing them)
  • made adv mode crafts use skill properly, involved an attribute rewrite which will also affect dwarf mode
  • fixed ,"" style names for historical figures in legends and gave invader mounts/monsters first names

It'll be nice when ghosts are no longer feared for their lag :)  Not to mention getting rid of all those nameless losers that invade and worthless bone artifacts.

You could have berries on the rocks and the dwarves would say it was "berry gneiss."
You should die horribly for this. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.

Not to mention a real hospital might soon be preferable over magma powered hospitals. Well, in some aspects.

Heh, I always come straight to the forums.  I have to remember to look at the homepage now and again to read about this stuff (I should set up an RSS reader someday...) because I don't even have it bookmarked.

Yeah, I am excited about it. But I seem to have a problem where I don't have the option to control mineral scarcity (.21).

Dis is bad D:

Good to hear... my current fort's suffering badly from it. On the bright side, though, my hospital just patched up four dwarves. Not too shabby!

Anyone else experiencing crashes in 31.21 adventure mode when receiving/reporting the success of quests?  Seems to happen about 25% of the time.

@MakBeth Yes, it's fixed AFAIK.

I think it's the way towns develop now. In the beginning, people move into a town. Then they start producing tables, which results in more and more tables. Soon tables represent a significant portion of the population, they start lobbying for new laws and regulations, putting people to greater and greater disadvantage...

Not according to the bug tracker, unfortunately.

That's too bad.

I really like the new adventure mode (was playing 31.16 until a couple days ago), but I forget to save often enough, and three quests is the most I've been able to complete without losing all my progress.

Just build a Dwarven Bathtub at the start of a dead end hall, put a lever at the dead end (or more than one....) and assign it to the spammer.  That one at least has a proper work-around that will totally get rid of the spam right now, without waiting :)

But I'm glad to see the fix!
