As a hint for dealing with bogeymen, weapon skill is very very valuble. If you raise your weapon skill to 16 or so, and play defensivly (aim all your attacks to hit as many as possible, to avoid counterattacks) You can usually clear them out pretty quick. A strong helmet is also advised as I've had them cave my skull in through an iron helmet with a kick.

Of course they're also randomly generated so if you get bogeymen made of bronze or something then you may just want to regenerate the world. :P

Bogeymen are unneeded additions to the game, I legitimately can't find a reason why they were added that makes sense, and I do NOT fall for the simple "HURR FEAR THE NIGHT" crap, I have no trouble one shotting them, believe you me, but I just hate "YOU ARE SURROUNDED BY INCESSANT CACKLING every six seconds, I really wish there was a way to remove them that didn't also remove all other night creatures, they are the stupidest way to die in this entire game, even stupider than dodging off of a cliff.

What's not to understand? Are you equally confused as to why Mario contains Goombas? It's a challenge meant for the player to overcome. Even moreso, it acts as a "softcap" that prevents the player from traversing across the world without first gaining some experience.

There are at least 3 ways in game to beat them, and an infinite number outside the game to turn them off. That's about as good as it gets

A commodity appears at first sight an extremely obvious, trivial thing. But its analysis brings out that it is a very strange thing, abounding in metaphysical subtleties and theological niceties.

I understand that, What I don't understand is why I have to fucking fight them every time a take 3 steps, it's retarded.

Once you beat them off, they are gone for that night, and are really not hard to beat if you are ready for them.

I wouldn't even do that to a human.

Yeah but once you do that they always come back the next night!

And this is the worst part about it.

There's no bonus at all to killing them. No gear reward, and they're just going to be back to waste your time the next time night comes around.

And why do they come in massive groups? I choose not to bring at least one person with me, and I'm suddenly punished by being attacked by 5 people every time the sun goes down? The worst is choosing to bring a single person with me, and then getting "you are surrounded..." because my companion disappeared during map travel.

Just get some companions and don't travel at night if you can help it.

I only learned to hate bogeymen after single handedly taking down a titan who happened to obliterate every one of my companions. Night was falling and the nearest town or lair was halfway across the (pocket) world, as this was one of the few large bests left in the world and I had to travel a great distance to it. I made it about halfway back before a bogeyman got lucky and punched through my skull (with an +iron helmet+ on no less).

That happened to me once.  Since then, if it's close to night I'll just sleep in the lair.  Either it counts as shelter, or I've gotten lucky a few times.

Generally I think it only counts as a shelter if you can see dawn by sleeping very close to the entrance. Unfortunately, if the titan was in a shrine area you're probably out of luck.

I find them a little annoying, but I'll also point out that throwers have little problems with boogeymen. Particularly if you carry around some swords or picks (don't ask me why, but picks seem to be hyper accurate and super damaging when thrown), but rocks work too.

In either case, you fight a battle of attrition with boogeymen. Get your dodge up high, and run around and try only to fight one at a time, you'll win.

Wait I just found out that bogeymen only attack if their not apart of a civ. Change their civ status and they will talk to you and join you.

What  :o how would you... hm, DFusion and such? I don't know how you would manage that.
Though it would be pretty bad to have companions that burn up at sunset.
