Sometimes, playing a game how it wasn't designed to be played is funner than the actual game.  Here's an example:

I'll vent some ideas here, and might even try some of them tomorrow:

Pacifist, law-abiding GTA?
Half-Life 2 using only the crowbar?
Minecraft without torches?
Call of Duty(or any other railroad shooter of your liking) without reloading, using fallen weapons to keep shooting?

More ideas to come!

Those are just challenges. We're talking about breaking the game. You shouldn't be able to do these things, but you can.

Psh, I already have a minecraft game torchless.

Pain in the ass, but I found surface magma so it isn't too much of a problem anymore.

Drilling is kind of hard and dangerous though.

Pacifist GTA, unless the mission states otherwise; and even so, minimize collateral damage/kills.

Spoiler: Challenges (click to show/hide)

Some of mine:
-Classic Doom (I, II, and Final/Plutonia) with only fists and/or chainsaw. Berserker is allowed.
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R. without artifact assistance, or play through it without a backpack (outside carrying some ammo; at least enough to reload a weapon 5 more times if loaded).
-Monday Night Combat, but as Tower Defense alone (you cannot assist your turrets).
-Dumb and Ugly run of Fallout (1, 2, or 3; INT and CHA are dump stats)
-IWTBTG while high or drunk
-LA-MULANA without a guide, and without taking notes
-League of Legends, playing heavily offensively, as a healer
-Iji, Shotgun only (except by the end)
-Cooking meals in PowderToy (try not to melt the pot; that uranium is one nasty spice)
-Super Meat Boy blind-run (monitor off)
-Crysis, Dash O'Pepper/AKA Donkey Kong Mode. A barrel is your only weapon.
-Age of Empires, suicide bomber wave. Standard units can only defend your home, but petards and demolition ships are your main only offensive weapon. No escort.
-Mechwarrior (any; mods are allowed to force pilot, if possible), Elemental Edition. Battle Suit or Elementals are your only mechs to pilot.  Have fun.
-Mario or Sonic, "The right button is stuck", you're always moving forward non-stop (unless the level changes otherwise) at full speed. I hope you got your timing down.
-Any military/squad based game (like CoD or Ghost Recon or Delta Force), I'm a ninja. Knife only, and if all else fails, sidearm. Nothing more than that.

No gamebreakers as of yet.

Those are just challenges. We're talking about breaking the game. You shouldn't be able to do these things, but you can.

Let me state the definition of this thread:  "Playing in a way that was not originally intended.  Which is as, or more, fun than the game itself"

You need games that are fairly complex and have a fiar share of bugs.

This page: http://www.it-he.org/ Has a series of anti - walkthroughs that are basically dedicated to breaking these classic games. Deus Ex yielding the most impressive results.

At one point you get to traverse unatco HQ as a disemboweled head.



The problem is that these games are both fun when played standard but hilarious when played by anti - walkthrough.
