Dear SpiralDimentia,
Because of your story (and many others about DF that I stumbled upon), I am awed by the power of dwarves in their tales of fortress making and breaking. I have been wondering why in this current world do we have so little stories about dwarves yet so many about other species. Thanks to that, I have my answer.



Their stories die with them only to be found by lucky intrepid explorers or other dwarves, who then die from what killed off the last couple or so batches which then in turn creates not a story to be told; but a legend to be remembered.

In short: DF stories are epic! This one along with many others made me love dwarves (and create this account partly)

When I was reading your story, I imagined that the story was actually being read out loud by a dwarven general holding a tattered journal. Then I imagined that a soldier came up to the general and report that the grand hall have been cleanse and the colossus is spotted in the lower level, fighting a group of demons. The general nodded and tightened his grip on his axe then turn to look at his army of harden dwarves, born for this very day where they'll take back what is rightfully there and banish the scums back to the nine hells where they came from. I'll avenge you brother. He thought to himself and placed the journal in his breastplate before marching his army to the lower levels, where they massacre everything that stood in there way.
