Hehe, that caretaker is cute. Maybe Toady might actually get something going for caretakers and animal care with the hospital stuff in the bugfixes. Oh well.

I'm not sure how to draw a fishernaga - would having her tie a string around her tail, and use that as a fishingpole be too cartoony?

I'm also not happy with the sorts of hats I've been trying to put on her...

Tieing the line around her tail would be just fine with me. Afterall the dwarves fish with their beards. And what sort of hats have you been trying for the fisher?

I tried to do one of those straw hats or a bucket cap, but I don't have enough pixels to do it properly.  Maybe I'll just have to trim down the body again, like with the miner.  If I go with a tail-fishing naga, I might just make a new body sprite altogether, though.

Maybe you could dip the hat down a little bit over face, like she's using it to block the sun from her eyes while she nap-fishes.

Apropos of nothing, I made a language file.  It's based on DF Lang.

It's based on French (because Girlinhat wanted it that way), and some of the words really sound French-ish.

[T_WORD:WRACK:oeillisent]
[T_WORD:WRATH:foeturent]
[T_WORD:SAVAGERY:ebousient]
[T_WORD:BULBOUS:unisouses]

I'm not sure if I should put it up in DFFD, though...

She'll probably bundle it up with the whole race when its done yanno. I guess you could put it up for people now if you wanted. Though it's not exactly hard to use df lang, I got a language file based off celtic for a new race I tried to make awhile back.

Well, I didn't want it to seem like I wasn't doing anything, so I did some more nagas...

Fishernagas and smiths.

I gave up on hats - it just didn't look good, so whatever.

The fish disector is just ripping the fish in half instead of dissecting it.  It seemed easier that way.  The fishernaga is using her tail to fish.  Fish cleaner has a big scary cleaver.

The smiths have eyepatches from a stray spark out of the furnace and shorter hair and paler skin, and carry tongs for taking things out of the furnace.  Weaponsmiths have swords, armorsmiths have shields, metalsmiths have rings, blacksmiths have a block of metal.  Furnace operator have shovels instead of a pair of tongs.

Those look pretty good too. The fisher does look a little wierd, probably just the different pose I guess. So about how many sprites are left to do?

I can remake the fisher - I think I should make the tail longer, and arch it up and then back over, so that it can be longer.

I still have craftsnagas, farmers, doctors, doing individual military (already have the generics), nobles, and then finally undead.  It's mostly complete, but still a ways to go.

Since it looks like all naga-lovers hang out here, I would like to ask what do you think about these sprites:

I was tired of a "generic snakeman" tile for all jobs for my naga in Genesis, so I've decided to work on soldier sprites for them. I was aiming for a more "monster-like" and less "human-like" look. How did they turn out to be?

I made another fishernaga - this one should better display the notion that longtails are loooooong.
