Mass role claims seem to have come in handy for just about every other game.

I'll start:

If someone targets me and I didn't use eradicate, I kill that player. Also, once during the game, any time, I can kill someone. It negates all forms of protection and the target won't revive. I also can't be detected by trackers or watchmen.

Well oddly enough im the same role as last time.

Combined Deep One Tracker
You kill other players. If you kill, you track your target. You will be told who that player targeted, if any. If you don't use a night action, all actions targeting you that night fail.

Which is probally why roles that can bypass all forms of protection are being included in the game.

So far it's had the effect of town coming up with major plans to root out the king. That would be the benefits, along with it succeeding in the past. Drawbacks would be King could lie about his role and try to manipulate the plan, but that hasn't seemed to work out very well in the past.
