You're saying that like it's a bad thing. Why should someone be rewarded with ore for being AFK for 30 minutes?
You aren't. 30 minutes of high-sec mining is worth shit.

I do my Hi-Sec mining in a Skiff.
CODE does not usually attack Skiffs, because a halfway decently set up Skiff is nearly impossible to blow up with their throwaway Catalysts before they get concordoken'd, even if they arrive with several people.

Either that or my mining toon is in some sort of nope-list, because they have tried to blow me up (without success) maybe twice a long time ago and now just ignore me, even if they arrive in the belt I'm in.

well, the thing is, if you mine in a decently tanked skiff and you pay attention, you are not the dude code realy is after.
anyway. lets face it. if you play a game to simulate work so you can spend hours and hours working more...
well, its futile to fight over taste i guess.
still, i would any new eve player (again) suggest to take a peek into faction warfare.
its good moneys, it will teach you how to fight for your own, and its actually a lot of fun.
for someone who thinks that losing is fun, fw as eve noob proably is the best game around anyway.

Do alphas have access to FW? I assumed they'd have the same restriction on joining that the trials did.

Honestly, I think its bad design to force people to 'pay attention' for hours while shooting lasers at rocks.  Thats boring as hell.  Why should they be rewarded with ore if they afk for thirty minutes in an asteroid belt?  How about because they invested in the hardware needed to produce that ore.  All of the 'precautions' needed to keep that ship alive while mining would amount to like a couple hundred lines of code tops and is indeed how I would do it if CCP hadn't made botting against the rules and therefore a royal pain to set up.

Plus the 30 minute afk is only really viable at lower levels.  Higher up you end up having a lot more mining power and shuffling cargo a lot faster.  Get into a group and that's even faster.  The afk miners are making chump change compared to dedicated rigs.  And the real question is... should someone be allowed to make 1mil while afk for a half hour, compared to someone actively mining and making 5mil in a half hour.  That's the comparison to make, and it's fine.  Let people take the easy/inefficient route.  You can take the hard/efficient one and out-pace them.  There's nothing wrong with letting people take the low effort route to piddle by.

Unrelated.  Any good regions near Amarr space to go scanning for data points?

all regions are equal, for the blessing of Bob descends upon every system equally

that said, if you want k-space sites, Deklein's Guristas relics and Stain's Sansha relics are great, but both are heavily camped. And the Drone Regions have the best data sites (since they sometimes drop Augmented bpcs and drone bits) but YMMV.

K-space = Known space = the systems with gates and security ratings and the good stuff like that
W-space = J-space = wormhole space = the systems with -1.0 security, names that start with J and followed by 6 numbers, and have no gates.

Data sites pale in value when compared to relic sites.  Sansha relic sites are generally worth the most by a fair margin, they're found in Stain (I think) and Catch.

Guristas aren't half bad either! Also the drone region data sites in particular are worth more than others.

My manufacturing processes are back in full swing. If anyone is looking for specific stuff, let me know. I'm also ramping up my T2 level stuff again, for those of you who can use those.

Regarding the PLEX discussion a couple pages back, you also need to remember that if you spend all your money on them, you won't have much to spend on new ships and stuff.

Ok, so downloading, but I won't be able to play today, probably. Let's see if I remember my passwords.
I have a Minmatar toon and an Amarr. The latter one might have some skills left that she can train as an alpha, as I made her a logi pilot. I don't think she can use medium lasers. But I might be wrong.

Not that I want competition but Khanid is pretty much the boondocks of Amarr space, and that's where I've made most of my isk scanning.  Low sec out here tends to be sparsely populated, good for finding non-looted WHs as well.
