Yup, I'm Arlen Tektolnes ingame.  Alex is actually doing an interview later today with the DF corp CEO about a potential merger :)

Oh, well, hi! Also, that's convenient. I'll poke him some. Which corp is this? IIRC, -HFS- is mostly dead.

Excuse me?

So, Burner missions: fun? Worthwhile? Silly gimmick? Interesting idea that fails because everyone just brings friends? Hopeless timesink that never really rewards officer modules? Something you do once or twice then never again?

There's a good breakdown of them here: https://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/some-npcs-just-want-to-watch-the-world-burn/

They're handing out titans on Singularity

So if anyone ever wanted to fit mining lasers on a titan, now's your chance!

Hello bump.

I got tricked into playing again. Sad day.

We decided to make the most of it by forming a small corp and living in a c4 wormhole. Life is good and it is generally pretty quiet.

Our only problem is that we have a couple of pocos and an abandoned tower to blow up. Anyone interested in bringing in some dps for a good old fashioned tower bash? If you have never been in a fleet of battleships before it is fun in and of itself. The bashing should only take a couple of hours this weekend some time.

Beyond that if anyone is interested in living in our hole Let me know. You have to be able to fly a battleship and do damage out to 80 km or at the very least be able to battleship remote rep. Our static is a c3 so if we don't have enough for c4 sites we can usually find fun there.

I went ahead and bought the eve premium edition on steam. Its 50% off, which while it might go lower...I figure that is a really good price to begin with. And it comes with a ton of stuff.

This time, I'm actually going in with a couple friends. Not just doing it by myself. I do really enjoy EVE, and only reason I stopped last time (I played a month) was because my PC was dying and had to replace some parts. So couldn't use it much. That and other bills took out any funds for any games. But I'd rather go in with a new account and get all the bonus stuff :P I didn't get THAT far before, and I'd rather go in new. That and my 2 friends are going in brand new...so kinda have to anyway :P

Hello,

I'm DF fan since 40d, occasional forums lurker and sort of bittervet in EVE Online -- playing it since 2009 on and off. Recently (August 2014) started play actively again and I'm glad to say that EVE made a huge progress in the last 5 years.

Decided to check if sandbox game lovers are like-minded... Was not surprised to see this 158-page thread.

Are there any UristMcDwarf-themed corporations or alliances around here? Can we do a sort of "community-based" movement like GoonSwarm, TEST (Reddit) and Brave Newbies did? Like described here http://www.themittani.com/content/city-states-eighty-percent-rotten?page=0%2C1 I think the "rotten" part was a bit outdated by Phoebe patch -- at least PFR sort of proves it http://www.themittani.com/features/first-new-eden-crusade-phoebe-freeport-republic http://www.themittani.com/news/scalding-freeport-zone. And CCP announced more re-balance and sovereignty changes...

So, is there still a chat for bay12ers?  I just resubbed and it looks like I've got most of my junk in Khanid.  Anyone still kicking around Ordion?

The b12 channel is still around, it is "Bay12 Eve" but it is generally only me in there.

I have a lot of junk left in Ordion but I have been living the WH life for a couple of months now. Got a small mixed group in a c4.

Then again, I consider Infinity to be overly ambitious, something that might easily spell it's downfall.

It took me 3 hundred odd bucks for subscription and buying 2 PLEXes once (another $35) until I realized how to earn ISK comfortably. And I'm not talking about skilling the character up -- rather about getting a deeper understanding of game mechanics & metagame, which in turn allows me to earn ISK comfortably (i.e. high ISK/hour). Of course I wish I was quicker learner :) I think most of people who now "play for free" (and aren't no-lifers the same time) spent some time paying for subscription.

If you are interested in making money ingame, you can read some great blogs of people who specialize in it. http://k162space.com/ and http://greedygoblin.blogspot.com/ are few examples.
