The thing about pirates is that they tend to not make friends. In fact, they very quickly make unfriends. And then those unfriends may attack those around the pirate in an attempt to get back at them. Which in this case would be the fine people of Bay12.

I've been reading up on how to be successful at piracy and honouring ransoms seems to make you come across as less of a douche. I don't think I'd get you guys attacked as long as I'm not a dumb pirate. But like I said, if you guys really don't want me to be a pirate then I won't.

Good luck with getting ransoms out of anyone who's been playing for a length of time enough to build up stuff worth having. Most pirates will take the money and then destroy the ship anyway; so generally people just refuse to pay up and replace whatever they lost, rather than risking losing the money as well as the equipment.

Really? Most pirates I've seen don't blow up the ships at all. Most pirates on the EVE forums seem to see this as despicable too.

So any other suggestions, or votes for any of the suggestions already made?

A few suggestions off the top of my head:

 * [DWiS] Dwarves in Space
 * [AlcMi] Alcoholic Midgets
 * [AlcMi] Manic Alcoholic Midgets
 * [Flood] Flood the World
 * [Magma] Kill it with Magma
 * [Carp] Carp of Doom
 * [Catsp] Thermonuclear Catsplosion
 * [E.@.E] Elephant Rampage
I... Don't like any of those. I liked our old name hidden fun stuff because it wasn't an obvious reference to DF and wasn't off the wall silly.

Any chance I could get on one of those 21 day trials?

Also, I guess I apologize that the only thing that could bring an end to my lurking campaign on Bay12 was free stuff. First post!

I'll see if I can find out who the current CEO of HFS is and shoot him a mail ingame.

I'd love to see HFS get revived instead of languishing as a one-man-and-his-alts corp.

Digging's a lot like surgery, see -- you grab the sharp thing and then drive the sharp end of the sharp thing in as hard as you can and then stuff goes flying and then stuff falls out and then there's a big hole and you're done. I kinda wish there was more screaming, but rocks don't hurt so I guess it can't be helped.

About to get on, if I DO attempt pirating then it'll probably take a while seeing how I need to get certain ships, modules, and training. Maybe I'll do some mining for a while, start peaceful.

I went looking through the thread last night and it turns out that Zehive is the current CEO of Hidden Fun Stuff, which is the previous bay12 corp. He's obviously stopped playing Eve, but if he's willing if can get a free four hour reactivation which would be long enough to transfer the corp over. But he hasn't logged on here in a week and a half and I haven't received a response from him.

Think I'm gonna be playing EVE way later unfortunately. My current craptastic computer has trouble running EVE so I must wait till next december. Oh well.

Note that the character creator consumes way more resources than the game itself, because it was stolen from some other much more recent game that CCP made. On my machine, I sometimes had to wait 5-10 seconds after mouse clicking during character creation, but even so the game is totally playable once I get in.

You might try that.

Hey guys.  I used to play this about three years ago.
I just bought some EVE game time.  I figure, why not.  I'm curious about what the game looks like these days.
Perhaps I could join the corp.
