I was under the impression that trial accounts cannot send ISK or assets to others, only receive it.

They can trade assets, including ships and weapons, but no ISK.
(at least, that's my experience)

Can't create contracts on a trial account. I suppose I could use open market buying/selling. Somehow I have a feeling if they've blocked contracts and such, they'll not look too kindly on trying to get around that if they notice.

You're assuming they somehow monitor every trial account's sales, which they don't. They honestly don't care, I'm not sure why you're so worried about this.

Aren't these the same guys who refused to roll back the server after one alliance lost a major battle because of real-world sabotage?

That might just be an urban legend though, I'm afraid I'm not well versed on EVE history.

well, you'll still need to buy stuff with the trial, and then station trade it to you main account.
I think the contracts thing has nothing to to with new players, more with older ones creating a trial and exploiting it.

Which is exactly what I was planning on doing. ;)

Simply put, there is no rule that states you can't give your items from your trial character to your main account. You aren't going to get in trouble.

If you're referring to the End of BoB, that wasn't real world sabotage so much as simply one of BoB's directors deciding to defect. He arranged for the corporation to be dissolved by conveniently "forgetting" to pay its bills, gave away a bunch of their assets before it did and then they started a new corporation with the same name to keep the previous members from reincorporating with it.

Then there was the guy who started a corportion, called it a "bank" and promised interest payments to people who made deposits. Made payments to people for a while to make it seem legitimate and convince more people to participate. Then after he'd collected 750 billion ISK, he walked away with it.

Such things are an officially endorsed playstyle in Eve.

I'm pretty sure the rumor Sirus was thinking of was the one that alleged that a member of one corp cut the power to one of their opponents' leader's house during a battle. I've got no idea as to the veracity of that particular claim, but it's one of the ones which has been floating around for a long time, relatively speaking.

Yeah, that's the one. I've heard about the End of BoB already, and I once was tempted to run a legit bank :P

Why would CCP give a damn about you cutting power to another person's house? Much less doing a rollback for it. If you want to act a damn fool, that's your business.

Welp, after much difficulty recovering my account and trying to get CCP to accept my credit card information (very confusing, don't they want my money?) I have finally made my way back into the wonderful world of EVE. Where do I go for newbie help again? Something about Amarr space?

All I know is apparently I have two ships, a Navitas and an Iteron and no idea what to do with them.

Join the "Bay12 Eve" chat channel. I'll be online soon available to answer questions and there might be others there already. Failing that, there's also a rookie chat channel.

I'm in now. Erisu is here too. We can answer questions.
