the game does get painful boring after a while unless you get creative. I have played every aspect of the game over the years and i resisted griefing and pirating for a long time, in any other game i play it's not my style.

One I got into some highsec corp wars though, i saw the fun and convenience of being able to shop and hang out in highsec but also enjoy some small gang rumbles. Best of both world in my opinion. null sec is just so dull usually unless you like blob warfare and gate camping type manuevers. FDun for a while but it gets old. It all gets old. For all that Eve does right, it fails to be truly engaging for a long time.

Guys, if you're looking for a Bay12 corp I think -HFS- is still around and stuff.

Yeah, but I like to be in control of stuff. I don't trust other people, and occasionally they don't like my idea of !!FUN!!

Just been rejected by the Nullsec corp I was trying to join. Didn't get any feedback other than 'Unsuitable', so they dislike either curiosity or depression, as I was fairly up front about both.

Looks cool, but I have trouble differentiating, is it Free to Play, or do you have to pay?

"You can download EVE, you can also buy EVE now!"
Confusing.

There is a free 21-day trial and, if you can wrangle a much-in-demand buddy invite from someone, a free 60-day trial.

After that, you have to pay for your time in some fashion.

It's not free to play, there is a monthly subscription (or you can buy game time in-game, but it's not really feasible from the get-go). I suspect that the "you can download EVE" part is referring to downloading the client, nothing is stopping you from doing that. It's just useless without an account.

Seeing this thread again made me check up on what's been going on in the game since I left, which in turn made me want to reactivate my account (again). Curse you, Eve, and your addictive ways! *shakes fist*

Another corporation member >:D (Evil CEO lurking)

Anyways, just recently trained up the skills to nab a Retriever, a medium-sized mining barge for those unknowing. This should help with any manufacturing that our corp wants to do.

We need members, and so far It's me and Azated. Could use some more people so we can have decent forces, especially if we want to join an alliance, participate in PvP, or do our own expansion.

So I reactivated my Eve account recently and decided that the only way to have fun is to get a bunch of players together, start a corp, pick a fight with someone way over our size and get our asses kicked. Unfortunately none of my friends like this game and most of the ingame corps/players are taking this game waaaay to seriously (Most corps have minimum playtime demands and more of that nonsense)

So, I come to this thread with the following question: Any other Eve-playing (or wanting to play) bay12'ers here that want to join me on this Tony Montana-esque-suicidal-'losing is fun'-rampage-campaign?

Hey, I'm just popping in to say that i'm planning on making an EVE account.  I've been meaning to try this game for a while, but have never got around to it.  Any advice for a newcomer?

Well, there's always the good old 'Don't fly what you can't afford to lose'.

That doesn't mean always have enough cash to buy a new one, it just means make sure you keep a few other ships around to help you make the money back.

Next up, do a bit of research before you start and find out what you want to do, then pick the best race for it (for PvE, Caldari, PvP Amarr or Minmatar).

Last up, don't go into 'Low-sec' before you know what to expect. Ideally, bring a few friends, too.

What about Gallente?   And also, I heard you get in-game bonuses for inviting someone, so if anyone wants to invite me instead of me just joining, say so.
