Actually, there appears to be a gatecamp in the system right now, not sure if it's on the ranni to arza or the ranni to miroona gate, going to find out now. But there's multiple people with 25 million+ bounties in the system. Including one with a 83 million bounty. All of them are in the same corp. Was on the arza gate.

How do you go about migrating bases, I've never attempted it? Do I just go out in a pod, and then grab a ship and pilot it back?

Okay okay!  Stop nagging me already!  I'll re-sub when I get home today.

Anyway...  I have a minnie who is specializing in small projectile in a Wolf or Jaguar (can't remember which).  If I recall correctly his name is Kir'ian.  I think he's like 10mil or something.  Its been almost two years since I played, but I think I can pick up my button pushing skills again.  It's like riding a bike, right?  He can pilot up to a BS (and has a few), but hasn't been training large projectile with any priority (maybe at lvl 3 or something).  Who should I contact in game that will probably be online?  This thread is too long to be a readin' every post to see if its mentioned.  =P

I was thinking of joining the "bad-ass" corp since while he has mining skills, I'd rather play pest exterminator in support of said mining operations, and then go off and commit murder, mayhem, and cloning... on the 'off' time.  You know... relax.

If it ain't got duct tape... shoot it!

To relocate you fly a shuttle back to you first base, get an industrial, and fill it with your frigs/best equipment, then fly that industrail back.

That being said, no one should relocate yet. I don't know how the HFS vote went and ARS will be supporting them, so that will decide where we end up.

Since you can sell stuff at (generally) the same price you bought it, it's frequently easiest to convert everything into ISK and re-purchase later.  That way you don't have to worry about moving millions of ISK worth of valuable goods around in a slow/fragile industrial.

Obviously if you're looking to move a rigged ship or something obscure and hard to find, that won't work.  Nor will it work if you're headed out to the ass-end of nowhere.  But, for moving basic stuff around within spitting distance of a decent marketplace, it really is easiest to convert stuff to ISK.

They voted for low sec bad asses. Though zeb voted for wormholers, and fucked up the voting because he has 982 shares.

Also, I'm at least getting my cruiser out there along with my 200 drones, so that I can do level 2 missions.

This is actually a very good point, though it is probably best to just drag your modules with you instead of running all over the region for them.

Tonight, any one who is interested can follow me out to the area Regi and I scoped, but remember, it is dangerous out there. Only plan to bring what you can replace.

I'll be flying a ship I can't replace, my covert ops.

So here's my plan over the next few weeks, get into battlecruisers, get the skills so that I can tech 2 equip it, then go for battleships, then go for tech 2 cruisers. Currently 4 hours out of a battle cruiser, then roughly 5 days out from being able to tech 2 it out at least components, then 19 days out from tech 2 medium turrets for it. Then 10 days from tech 2 drones.

Sounds like a solid plan.

T2 drones are a must-have.  You'll use them absolutely everywhere.  And, as you get into the bigger ships, they're essential for dealing with the smaller stuff that your guns can't handle.

Battlecruisers are awesome.  They'll tear through L3 missions, they're great in a fleet, and they can do some decent DPS in an L4 mission.  I love my Drake and my Hurricane.  Awesome ships.

Battleships aren't nearly so awesome.  They're the mainstay of L4 missions...  But they're big and slow and awkward.  I don't fly my BS any more than I have to.

I wouldn't worry about T2 weapons and ships so much right away...  T2 is very nice, but the time it takes to get there might not be immediately worth-while.  I'd train enough skills and support skills up to the IV-range that you can fly a decent BC (with T2 drones) before I put the time into training T2 guns and ships.

So you'd recommend training stuff like my gunnery or my armor tanking skills up to level 4 before I do stuff like the tech 2 turrets?

Also, this is apparently a level 2 mission, http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=DeadDrift2.htm, yeah, no the first spawn is 2 frigates, 2 battlecruisers and a webbing drone. The next one is 2 frigates and THREE battlecruisers... After that you end up against a battleship...

Yes.

T2 gear will require one or more skills to be trained all the way to 5.  Training from 4 to 5 often takes longer than the whole 1 to 4 progression, and only adds a small % boost (in addition to unlocking whatever T2 thing you're aiming for)

Frequently (though not always) you'll see better returns from training targeting/powergrid/armor/controlled bursts/etc. all up to 4, and then going after T2 by capping things out at 5.  Because unlocking T2 medium turrets only lets you fit T2 medium turrets...  Where training all that other stuff up to 4 will give you a boost to T1 medium turrets, T1 small turrets, shields, armor, eventually T2 medium turrets, and whatever else.  You'll find yourself living longer and doing more damage across-the-board.

But you don't actually have to kill anything.

The mission marks as complete after you approach the stranded ship and it detonates.  You can warp out and collect your reward right after that.

And looking at the bounty payout listed on EVE-Survival, I don't think I'd even bother killing anything...  Just warp-in, get credit, and get out of there.  Then pick up a new mission.

Do you actually have to buy the game like WoW or can you just download it from the site (for free) and then pay the monthly fee?

While you don't have to buy the game if you get a 21 day free trial from someone. You just have to pay a 5 dollar activation fee to get you account in addition to the first month.

In essence yes you are paying 5 dollars for the game.

If you want a trial just go ahead an PM me your email.

Anyone hanging around the Placid Region? I've just gotten back into the game to check out Incarna and have been tinkering around in a .2 system looking to figure out the new Planet stuff.

Interestingly, Armok's name actually originates from arm_ok, a variable in one of Toady's earlier games that kept track of how many of your arms weren't missing.
