Eve is not unique in this amoung the MMO's but the customer service provided by the GM's is horrible.

I don't know what, if any, guide they follow but it's extremely inconsistant and biased.
How so?  Are you referring to the t20 incident or something personal?

I'm unfamiliar with the t20 incident, my opinion is based off personal experience.

Briefly I was in a rookie system and a pirate guild flipped my can. No biggie, I kind of expected that at some point. However, they continued to do so over and over. I assume in an atempt to bait me. As I understand the rules this sort of thing is considered griefing in a rookie system so I reported them. The GM response was simply "This is part of EVE online." I explained to them that I understood this but since this was a rookie system it was a clear violation...they disagreed so I cancelled my sub.

Plenty of other games out there.

Huh, that kind of sucks.  I never really understood why can flipping wasn't allowed in rookie systems though.  GM should have followed policy, but in my personal opinion the "no can flipping in rookie systems" is kind of dumb rule in the first place.  I kind of understand it why the rule exists, but it seems like there could be a better "in game" solution.
Were you a complete rookie at the time? If not, you can't expect geography to save you. Otherwise the rookie systems would be swarmed by miners trying to get away from the kind of people you were having trouble with.

Gratz on the Corp. I joined a PvPish corp, not regretted it once, it's been great fun, even losing my BC to a damn good piece of timing on a Roam. Only problem is most of the guys aren't in my timezone.

Still haven't talked to anyone yet because I'm a bit busy with work and my studies at the moment. Just shopping.

Were you a complete rookie at the time?

Yep...I had recently come back to the game (hadn't played in years) and started a new character to experience the tutorials. I was still in the tutorial system in fact.

Honestly? Not the GM's fault, you just don't fit into the game. I've lost shit and lost hours of mining and not crying, crying over rookie mining because a single GM won't save your 100 minerals seems a waste of energy honestly.

I've had great experiences with EVE's support. When I lost a ship because I disconnected, they restored it for me. Response time was good, etc. Having pirates flip your can over and over is definitely an inalienable part of what makes EVE what it is though.

There was no crying...and it wasn't the fact that I lost the ore...it was a pitiful amount, it was the fact that the GM didn't follow policy. I could care less about the douche bag getting his thrills on the other end of his computer by jacking newbs...but if they have a rule, reguardless of validity, they should follow it.

Corp got Wardecced last night, by a corporation less than a day old with only one member. The way I see it, there's a few possibilites: 1. The guy's a nut, thinks he can take on a 20 man corp with the power of his "Awesome Battleship!!1!", 2. The guy thinks he can scare us into paying him to call it off. 3. The guy has friends waiting to join and hurt us/scare us (Most Likely, IMO.), and 4. it's all a training exercise put on by the corp leadership to see how the newer members react. 4 isn't likely, 1 and 2 are about even, and 3 is what I'd do in the situation.

I've found too many ships that are "alone" in belts in low sec to not be suspicious.

I canceled my subscription to this game years ago because I thought it was stupid. I mean, the first 30 days was learning skills just so I could start to learn skills. What type of shit was that? I trudged on, waiting for the day it would become fun but after a few months it never did.

So I just got an email from EVE saying I can reactivate my account for 5 days free.

I admit I haven't played in years and know nothing about the new content, but do they expect me to change my opinion of the game in 5 days? It would take me more time than that to relearn what I already knew lol...

Oh well, just thought it was funny. I will probably download the game again just cause the music was badass.

Actually, the game has changed A LOT in the past couple of years. You no longer have those learning skills, and you get reimbursed all of the sp you spent on them. There is ass tons more to do. A lot more balance and a bunch of other stuff.

I started a character back when Eve was in beta, and have been playing off and on ever since.

Sad to say that character only has around 9mill skill points, and only thing I can say is it can pilot a hulk.  So now I am just speccing it for more combat specific roles, by finding well fitted ships on Battleclinic like a Moa, and Drake.

I am about 13 days away from a fully fitted Moa that would be decent at pvp and won't make you cry to lose it, and then next I will be training for a fully fitted Drake.

I'm going for the Legion at the moment, having tried out Battleships and found them slow and dull to use. A few days until T2 Medium Pulses, then it's training the last few skills to get all the subsystem skills trainable, Amarr Cruiser 5 (Oh god.), then the Cruiser skill itself, along with the subsystem skills. I estimate a month and a half, maybe two. After that, I just need the ISK to buy it...

My biggest problem with the game at the moment is the balance. Caldari seem to be better at almost everything. Sure, Gallente'll beat them up close, Minmatar can run away, and Amarr ships are tough as nails (And very pretty, too!), but the Tengu, the Raven and the Drake seem to be the best in class. No-one really has anything bad to say about them.

So.. long story short I ended up with a new account, but I got a free year on it.

So we have a corp or not?

Ah and getting tempted to start this game. I have some vague idea of becomming some type of becomming some type of industry/trader drone carrier. ( I loved the drones from home world series. ) I'm prepared for fail and starting up the trial download now.....

Are you serious? Compare the cost of going to a movie for one night or being able to play EVE every night.

Anyway.. my review on the changes I have noticed so far.

Learning skill removal: I was advocated the removal of those years ago, but all the player base would flame me for it. That was such a bummer for new guys, I am glad that the players changed the view or CCP decided to go against them on this.

Learning skill queue: AWESOME.

Rigs: AWESOME, my Kestral is so much more badass now. I pretty much never run out of capacitor charge and my rockets fly faster than ever.

Epic Arc missions: Finally, something for a new player to do besides mine for money. I've made a small fortune doing this so far. The only thing that sucked and that I almost missed out on it. It mentioned it to me on mission 9/10 of the tutorial mission and didn't make a mention anywhere in my journal/agents/contact list, so I didn't notice until someone pointed it out. I had to search the web to find out where to even start it :/ If you're a noob and missed out on it, go to Arnon IX - Moon 3 - Sisters of EVE Bureau with a well armed Frigate and enjoy your millions of ISK.
