The T2 ammos are generally not great, too specialize...Fusion is your BEST FRIEND, use it always.
this is very wrong. tho it IS true that t2 ammo is very specialized and is harder to use, the trick is to make it work anyway. not always, but especially in pvp small scale or 1v1 pvp, every small advantage counts.

stupid yet very successfull t2 hybrid ammo fit excample: merlin with dual web, ab (mwd in null), masb
doesnt have any point, but when rigged for kin/th res, can even kill daredevils (note: not a save fight, but due to the high price difference, a fight very worth taking. the tricky part is to switch to null before you desitegrate if you cant stay at knife range)

likewhise, blaster destroyers work extremely well with t2 ammo.
rail catalyst (destroyer) too are very dependant on t2 ammo. at least in fleets. solo protip: try 150mm meta rails and annihilate stuffs at 20km with antimatter.

aaanyhow, the only t2 ammo that truely is shit almost all the time is t2 autocannon ammo.
but the reason for this is not the t2 ammo specialization or the normal  t2 drawbacks. the reason t2 autocannon is crap is, that it turns a weapon with low base damage and selective ammo type into a weapon with low base damage and fixed damage type. even worse, the damage type is fixed to explosive witch is reaaaaaly situational.

Hum ... didn't they say, a few weeks/months ago, that the Alpha patch (released just now) would also have a balancing patch for most of the T1 sub-capital ships ?

What happened about that ?

there was some small changes to subcaps before this patch. some regarding the Rifter, Arbitrator, Corax, Dragoon i think....cant remember more.

was answering to some questions in the facebook page and suddenly an idea crossed my mind, armor Drakes:

-can fit rapid lights and a neut
-can fit double web
-can fit point
-can fit scram
-can fit MWD and/or AB
-has a spare mid for cap booster/battery
-can use ancillary/normal armor repper
-can fit 2 EANMs
-can fit damage control
-still has enough stats to use the rigs for something else

with T2 rapid lights and fury missiles it gets over 200 DPS (doesnt count the drones), signature and range shouldnt be an issue if you can double web your targets. has a pretty big resistance profile with armor rigs.

it doesnt have a way to add more buffer without gimping the fit (same reason i dont get with people add 1600 plates to hurricanes but anyways).

Pretty sure a passive HAM drake will kill that if you get close enough to scram it (and you won't break its tank 240hp/s isn't uncommon plus resists...) and much the same with HM drakes, only those can outrange you too.

finally got the last remaining points of the event. the battleship crate came with the skillbook and a free tempest *-* , so now the only grind are for the skills, the fit and the skin.

shouldnt be too hard, the only issue im getting right now is that im getting faction related missions too frequently, just passed on a gallente related one just to jump into a rogue drone one in a low sec system. this is annoying.

Don't fly a battleship if you are not properly skilled (and no, battleship 3 and some large guns is not enough, you need the support skills). I almost lost mine (a Maelstrom) when I tried lvl 4s for the first time. A corpmate had to rescue me, otherwise I would have died to the rats.

Tempest isn't really used in pve, as far as I remember. But it is a beautiful beast!

I tried to start training a bit into Minmatar battleships, what would you recommend as a good minimum for battleship PVE, and what sites (In lowsec or highsec, I don't work null and I am not taking a battleship into a wormhole without a base) would you recommend running with it?

Also, which Minmatar battleship?

the Typhoon seems to be the most recommended. can carry one flight of each scout and medium drone, while using cruise (or maybe torpedos) against BS rats. can go either armor (it has a lot of lows) or shield (it has more buffer there), best i could come up in osmium was a 143 passive shield tanking Typhoon with T2 cruise, it probably wrecks with torpedos.

Maelstrom and Tempest seem to be used with Artillery in mind since both have a rate of fire bonus, the Tempest seems to be more oriented towards damage because of the rate of fire and damage bonuses. the Maelstrom is tanking oriented due to the shield boost bonus.

the Maesltrom seems to have more dronebay and bandwidth compared to the tempest. and an active tank using an XL shield booster should be the go to.

all three battleships can go either shield or armor actually (its minmatar after all) so its more of a matter of taste.

there's not much BS sized sites in high sec, only L4 missions (and incursions). the BS stuff is down from low sec from what i've seen.

as for other things:

i thought doing the resource war thing would be cool but turns out you need people to run them. i left a venture in a 1.0 system in heimatar to see if i can get some LP there. even the lowest site has heavy rats. really sad to see only 1 player in the system apart of me.

Why not do a little bit of gallente cross training and grab a Machariel?

Because he is an alpha with almost no money? Though faction BS were rather cheap last time I looked, they are still a bit expensive. And imagine that poor thing with alpha skills...

I'd recommend an active tanked Maelstrom with XL shield booster, a boost amplifier and two t2 invulns. You can use arty, but 800s hit cruisers and the like a lot better. Bring (t2) drones for the small stuff. Capacitor Rigs (Capacitor Control Circuits).
Eve University has a fitting.
As an alpha you should have the available tanking skills maxed (fitting as well).
Remember to kill scramblers first, decline missions (basically the only BS content in highsec apart from incursions) that are too difficult. Best to bring a buddy or have one on standby at the beginning. If your drone skills are too bad you might not be able to break some of the elite frigs, iirc. And those might scramble.
Don't leave the booster running, it is not a stable fit, and not a lazy fit either. You can easily run out of cap if you aggro too many enemies.
Choose ammo depending on enemies, if you want you could switch an invuln to a specific hardener, but remember to switch according to the enemies.

Machariel is pretty and deadly, but tanks less than the Mael with an active tank. (I haven't tried an armor tank.)

Top of the crop is the marauder, of course. In bastion mode you are basically unkillable in missions unless you did something very wrong with your fitting and your 800s reach out as far as arty on some other ships if you choose the correct ammo. Missions are boring, but I really enjoy one-shotting elite frigs from 50km away.

forgot to mention i flew in a pod from lonetrek to pure blind and into venal without getting podded (had to self destruct because no one would kill me).

anyways, resource wars seem to be a failure. even the lowest types are hard as fuck and you cant find people to do them, dont see the point in trying them if you cant even do the entry ones. i havent seen anyone warp to the sites apart of me.

shelved the Venture in Rens, spent the 30K LP from the corp to sell some books in Hek, netted 28 million total. quite a big boost, returned to Caldari to do more L2s. broadcasted the fightclub in some channels, now its a matter of waiting but yeah, it has been 2 weeks or so since i made the thing, i think im gonna close the project in the next 2 weeks.

Is anyone here in a wormhole corp, or would be interested in running a wormhole corp or alliance?

Because seriously, I really, really want to get into a nice wormhole to run PI and the new reactions and crap.

Mine's recruiting at the moment.  Minimum requirements are as follows.

Need to be able to fly 2 of: Support T3 (Neut Legion, Web Loki), Combat T3 (HAM Loki, Blaster Proteus), or Guardian
Need to be able to fly 1 of: Cerberus or Scimitar
Need to be able to fly 1 of: Sleipnir, Hurricane Fleet Issue, or Scimitar
Need to be able to fly 1 of: Hecate, Svipul, Confessor, or Deacon
Must be able to fly a covops or scanning T3 with scanning supports on a separate account to your main.
Other useful alts (blops BS, logi, FAX, dread, HIC etc) are nonessential, but will definitely help your application.

You'll need to be self sufficient for isk (we don't run sites as a group), have a non-shit mic, and provide full API keys.  Other than that, all you really need is a maniacal love of scanning, a basic understanding of wormhole mechanics and a reasonably active killboard history (doesn't need to be great, just active and not full of completely idiotic losses).
