You don't ever use a flight stick of any sort in that game. I enjoy it, best way to "describe" it is probably for you to go play it, and remember that the manufacturing, research, and even mining are more fun in-game than in the tutorial (You'll know what I mean after you start).

Not Eve Online, Eve Valkyrie. The fighter spin-off. I got my fill of Eve gameplay, but I like the universe and was curious about the spin-off.

Anyway, not EVE Online per say, but I picked up EVE Valkyrie over the weekend. Fun game. So far I think the Strix assault fighter is my favorite.

Been wondering about that game. Now that I have a proper flight stick again it might be worth looking into. What's it like, gameplay-wise?

Well, I use an xbox 360 controller. It's pretty fast-paced and the fighters are very nimble, which allows for some really tight maneuvers through confined spaces. There are four fighter classes (assault, heavy, support, and covert... the first three classes each have 4 fighters in that category while covert only has one) and each ship has its own weaponry and special abilities. There are skill trees to unlock modifications as one gains xp.

It is multiplayer-centric and the game modes include team death match, territory control, extraction (basically 1 flag CTF), and carrier assault (capture points to disable carrier shields then attack cooling nodes on the enemy carrier within a small window of vulnerability). There's also a wormhole mode which I have not touched yet, but it's my understanding it involves using a limited selection of preset fighters (wormholes are only open for the weekend). I recorded an extraction gameplay match.

oh yeah took the whole day but i finally got enough to 5 standing with the corp to enjoy those dank LP payouts from L4s.

in other news, the word is passing around it seems. already got two guys joining the channel. allthought one is a corp recruiter, the other is a true new player which still needs to do the combat agents. at least it seems im gonna get help to put some more people in the channel. hopefully leading to what i wanted to do with it. time will tell.

BTW forgot to say that the new update comes out in Dec 5. gotta start saving up money to get those skillbooks and the injectors to be able to learn them (not to mention the new ship and modules). the endgame objective is to have a Tempest with Nefantar Skin. just for bragging about, maybe for L4s (allthought i was thinking on using a Tornado for this).

anyways, that's more or less the goal after the update. there's still a lot to  do right now to keep me occupied with this game.

they are less tanky then normal bc, and the large guns will have worse  damage application in l3 missions then medium guns.

farmed 30K LP with Pator Tech School but turns out they only sell the distributio nconnections book.

got a fight with one of the guys that joined the channel. despite being a newbean my combat reaper was destroyed (pulsating the AAR was a mistake).

there was some people asking questions in the reddit thread but one is in wardec so cant come to Rens for fights. the other said it would check it out but no one appeared outside of the same 3 guys from before.

now im doing L1 distribution missions for Thukker Mix, the agent is an hysterical bitch from what i've seen in the missions. the Mammoth isnt fit for combat so i have to skip those kill people stuff (its unethical anyways). the idea is to get it as high as 3 to get the L3 agent because the L2 agents are in low/null.

after that its returning to Caldari Navy and do L2 security missions.  the Rupture should be able to do it even with a WH fit.

finally farmed enough standings to move into L3 missions for Thukker Mix, had to travel to Derelik to do it. then got the remaining LP to buy the mining connections book.

returned to jita, went to check if i could replace the Rupture with a Fleet Stabber, turns out that one is more expensive than a Gnosis (wut?), bought a mobile tractor instead and returned to the .5 system for L2 missions.

dont know how much its gonna take but at least it will be combat missions so i can tractor beam junk and get some NPC bounties on top of the pay. i have 4K LP with Caldari Navy already. just need to farm for some days. a week at most. time will tell i guess.

The Gnosis is two things, xarit:
A big, fat, slow, easy target
A clear sign (Until tomorrow) that you're an Alpha player who has no other options

THAT'S why they're so cheap compared to, well, everything above standard non-navy cruisers.

i underestimated the power of the rats. lost the ship in the first L2 mission i got. that's bullshit, even the Sleeper Drones were easier to deal with. i cant understand that.

guess i'll have to build an actual mission running ship after all.

SEVERAL L2 missions require you to RUN, not fight. The rats are specifically OP so you don't fight them. It's kinda silly, but there you have it.

pretty sure the one about defending a yatch with some medic robots wasnt exactly a runaway type of mission.

anyways, fitted an artillery stabber with active shield and its working so far. ironica that this thing is cheaper and can do the thing with just some hardeners whereas the Rupture was autocannon fitted and even with bulky resistances (because it was a wormhole fit) it was getting shredded by the rats.

i guess close combat just doesnt work for missions.

Eh, Rupture's usually good on close-combat. The fitting, however, was not optimized. You should have had two resistances tanked to the max (Dependent on where you're ratting/mission-running and what enemies you're going to face) and good repping capability.
