Another 21day trial.

If you subscribe after/while using a 21day trial, the one that gave you the trial gets something for it. (Only if it is not by plex, iirc.) So if I get gametime, I am happy to share as I pay for it with ingame money anyway. I'd give you about 300mil ISK, about 60% of a plex' worth.
You can subscribe anytime, the time you buy will be added to the trial time.

if you are signing up, use somebodies link.  You will get 21 days free instead of 14, and if you subscribe the referee gets a bonus,  If you use mine, ill split any bonus with you:

A link from me for 21 day trials is here.  I think I get a reward if you go on to sign up, so I will split that with whoever signs up.  Ill chose some ISK, which should be a nice bonus for the two of us.

I did use your link for signing up as you where the first one to ask for it. I'm starting to do the tutorial right now. My ingame name is GaPTrixie Lulamoon.

I'm using someone's link already :P 21 day trial ended at the start of this month and I have been just too busy with RL crap to sub til now. I'm still a little busy so likely I'll be subbing late tonight. If I remember correctly about my in-game financial situation then once I sub it should be one of the few months that I actually have to do so with real money :D

Damn being in a null sec corp is so fun, if your getting bored with the game I suggest you apply to some null sec corps, get accepted, liquidate all your assets and move out there it's the best thing you will ever do.

Recently went on a 10 man frigate roam which was fun we saved one of our own and took down another rifter, got bombed by a bored neutral and lost a couple of guys to a covert ops BS it was so fun, even more so seeing people's reactions as they dropped onto a frigate fleet and start swearing in local :D

Also if anyone is interested in joining a null corp send me a PM and I can see about giving you a good head start into joining me

Eh, I'd love to get into this game but I just don't feel like I have the time to devote to it, let alone the money :(

For what it's worth, Eve is among the least time consuming MMOs to exist. Skills continue to train while you're offline. If you want to take a week off you simply set a really time consuming skill to train and then don't log on.

"Not playing" is a completely valid way to advance your character in Eve.

That only applies to character skills though... If you intend to buy expensive stuff, you have to grind for money. And you might need to grind for faction reputation depending on what you want to do.

..but in PVP a character that is a couple days old can perform important actions.
And it is more than "tackle so the big guys can kill the enemy". Partly because the tackler is really the most important role, and partly because you could already be doing something besides tackling. Just don't expect to do hundreds of dps.

I wonder if CCP will ever put coalitions ( combination of  alliances ) and empires ( combination of coalitions )  into the game as game managed things which have their own GUI I know goon swarm have CFC which I'm currently in and the amount of management between all the alliances must be staggering so they don't hit wrong targets.

Not to burst your bubble, but I doubt CCP wants to make the Big Blue Donut an official mechanic.

Big blue donut ? And I don't see why not it would not exactly cause anything game breaking and would just make life easier for what already goes on.

I have to agree. There's already way too much monopolization of space in nullsec by big alliances (which I believe is the "big-blue-donut" mentioned). And CCP has already shown it's going against that trend, and might go even further in the Odyssey expansion, depending on what updates hit moons. I think CCP stated a few times that their goal is a very dynamic nullsec with constant feuding over small territories, not giant conglomerations which are pretty stable for months or even years at a time.

Would somebody explain to me the tengu, please?

I'm 3 days from bring able to fly one on Tranquility. Hopped onto the test server where I can already, tried some fits...and the tengu does less damage for me than my drake. Looking over fits, it seems that "great dps" tengu depend on using T2 and/or assault missiles. But...I can fit those on my drake just as well. Same number of low slots for ballistic controls. Same number of missile bays. But the drake gets a 10% damage bonus from battlecruiser skill (which I have at 5), and the tengu gets a 5% damage bonus and 7.5% RoF bonus from caldari offensive systems skill. Which I only have at 3. So if I spend 4-5 days training it to five...the tengu would give me a net 6.4% more damage than my drake.

Seriously? Is that all? What am I missing here? Have I just spent the past few weeks training to fly a half billion ISK ship for only 6.4% more damage? Only benefits I'm seeing to the tengu are that it's smaller, faster, and has better resistances. But I was planning to upgrade to the tengu to have a better dps boat. Not a better tank.

I've read people claiming that they can do L4 missions in 5 minutes in a tengu.  6.4% extra damage is not going to do that.

I dunno, a small DPS boost and better overall survivablility sounds exactly like what a strategic cruiser is supposed to do. Its not going to be cracking most battleship tanks but its a mean little cruiser.

Um. Actually. A well-fit Proteus with decent skills (lvl 3 ish in subsystems and 4-5 on support skills) can break a single well-fit BS' tank quite readily. While tanking harder than a BS. That said, any cap issues and you're screwed - the focus on DPS and tank really makes the ship's capacitor longevity plummet.

As for the Tengu thing, as a PVE boat their advantage over the Drake is the actual speed at which they move and the ability to either sig (speed) or shield tank all but the heaviest hitters. As PvP boats they are decent alone but really shine as part of a larger fleet. The point of a T3 is to be versatile - they may not do things as well as a comparably priced T2 cruiser, but they do a number of things competently.

As for the 6.4% damage boost, that is actually a significant boost in applied damage. Remember that a 5% per level bonus to resists for Amarr and Gallente has been deemed too strong by the devs and reduced to 4%/level. EvE truly is a game where a few extra percentage points really make a difference. The 10% damage bonus is actually inferior to the combined dam/ROF bonus - which is why with Odyssey a number of Gallente ships, for example, are having their flat damage bonuses replaced with a ROF bonus.

I reiterate that the point of a strategic cruiser is versatility. It has slightly better DPS...AND slightly better tank. AND it's smaller. AND it's faster. You're currently complaining about getting FOUR almost straight upgrades to one of the strongest battlecruisers in the game! Are they HUGE upgrades? No! A significant damage upgrade would be to, say, a Raven with Torpedos fitted - but at the expense of being far easier to hit due to your slow speed and much larger size.

You have gotten yourself into the trap of thinking that bigger = better in EvE, which is a very carebear mindset to have and is the number one reason for the endless complaining on the forums about how the much larger Mining Barges can be killed by a few small destroyers. If you want THAT, play WoW or any of the other insufferable themeparks out there.
