Masterwork improvement

47k & rising.

Legitimate item, no bug exploitation.

Well-crafted leather waterskin.

Now I'm trying to improve it further, but moving a specific item to a specific place is kind of... tricky...

I do that for everything. :D

I only make a very small number of items in my fortress but a single stone figurine can buy out an entire caravan.

Each object takes years of work to finally finish. Each object I make is an artifact in of itself, a marvel of dwarven craft.

I bursted out laughing so hard at this that my dog woke up, came in the room, and looked at me like I'm an idiot.

Then proceeded to brag about how he has 27 kills on his kill list and is super-doggenly tough.

The best way to do this is to have a stockpile next to the Jewelry Workshop that accepts nothing but the item that you want to decorate while prohibiting other stockpiles from accepting that item. Since it's the closest item to the workshop after the jeweler collects the gem, they'll go for it first. I'd recommend deleting the stockpile next to the shop after the dwarf begins as that will prevent some other dwarf from coming along and moving it back to the stockpile after it has been decorated. If the item to be decorated is being moved when the jeweler gets back, they'll go for the next nearest item.

Even then, you still have to keep an eye on your Jewelers; if it's a gem that is already in the shop because of a job cancellation and another dwarf takes the job, then that dwarf will grab the closest item that can be decorated and carry it there regardless of whether or not there's an item that can be decorated in the shop already.
