My desktop is now literally filled with wooden dildos for 75% off deals.

Much less active than I used to be on these forums, but I still visit them on occasion. Will probably resume my activity in full once Dwarf Fortress will be released on Steam.

Another meager steam sale. :(

Winter sale in a month though.

Not the best Steam sale ever, but I've been itching for a sale for a while now, so I crossed a few games off my wish list.

Wuppo -60%
Megaton Rainfall -50%
Shenzhen I/O -50%
Trails of Cold Steel -40%
Peach Beach Splash -40%
Dragon Quest XI -30%

Also, not on sale, but I went ahead and pre-ordered X4:Foundations.

GOG also has its Black Friday sale. It's ok.

Battle.net also has its Black Friday sale. It's a joke. (Oh wow, something that went for R$150 is now R$110? WHAT A DISCOUNT!)

That's an incredibly good sale for a very in-depth 4X. Y'all should check it out if you don't have it already.

Unfortunately when I checked it out with a friend that had it I got... overwhelmed.

Do you think it would run okay on a 10ish year old laptop?

What is the combat like, RTSish or turn based?

I'm thinking it looks like it might be fun to play while I'm visiting my family during the holidays.

It's pretty CPU intensive because you have hundreds of ships per empire flying around in a galaxy with hundreds of stars, each of which have orbiting planets and moons. In real time. Old laptops might not be able to cut it.

Combat is kinda RTSish, but because you can design your own ships there isn't a lot of rock-paper-scissors going on.

Still, there's no reason that you couldn't buy it and wait until you have access to a beefier machine.

I bought Oxygen not included for 45% off. Seems like a good deal.

Played for a few hours, it's quite interesting and very charming.

You should be fine. Check the specs requirements - they're hardly top of the line.

I used to play it on my now-12 years old T60 ThinkPad, a Core Duo 1.8 GHz laptop with 2.5 GB RAM (or less, I can't recollect when I bought extra sticks), which was never a power rig.
It was very much playable, albeit with slowdowns and crashing on a semi-regular basis. This could have something to do with me insisting on playing largest maps, or with Win7 hogging up the resources. In any case, any crashed fun was salvageable with autosaves.
