just an FYI, SOTS1 multiplayer was 100% nonfunctional last time I tried it with a friend. Great game but you may be restricted to singleplayer only

Even with Hamachi?

The matchmaking service is dead (it was through the Gamespy servers, which were killed like 4 years ago if I remember correctly?) but it still works with direct connect. I haven't ever tried it with a program like Hamachi, but I imagine it would probably work.

It works on a LAN, not over the internet. I didn't test hamachi

Nn... yeah, if lan works hamachi probably does, too. Think there's a few other things that works off a similar mechanic (gameranger?), as well.

Yeah Himachi creates a virtual LAN so it's not a problem to play LAN games of the internet anymore. That being said, I had a few issues getting Himachi working in general (I know a lot of people do), so I had to try a few different programs and fiddle about a bit, but it's definitely possible.

What I did before was set it to LAN mode and forward the port and give my buddy my IP and he just direct connected, but a program like Gameranger or Hamachi would probably be more user friendly

Same issue with other older games that were powered by Gamespy, like Neverwinter Nights.

Honestly, this is really just my excuse to ask if anyone's played it and what they thought, without spoilers obviously. It looks kinda like a more fleshed-out, story-driven, nightclub version of Papers Please with adventure game elements.
Then again, I only played a bit of Papers Please, for some reason... might have been a demo. This looks cool in any case, I think I might grab it.

It's actually a lot more fun than I'd have guessed, especially based off early reviews. If you're into online PvP games this is absolutely worth the hard drive space.
